I have eaten here many times, and the outstanding quality has never wavered, but Bowpickers fame has made the lines long and slow. I was there at 1:30 pm, on a Wednesday in April, in increasingly heavy rain, and it took 30 minutes to get my meal. However, once I did, it was just as wonderful as ever.

We were looking for lunch options in Astoria, OR and my wife found the Bowpicker. It's located on a hill, parking is sparse and I hear the lines can be quite long but we were lucky and came when the line was short (20 min). A full order of fish and chips basket was $11 and you get a side... More

My husband liked the light breading that was not greasy. It was tuna, so be aware of that. Fries were big steak fries kind that were pretty good too. The wait wasn't too bad and the line moved quickly.

We were in Astoria in January 2017 and tried to eat here. Unlike New England where shacks close for the season, this place is hit and miss because they only open when they want to. We missed in January but had the honor of standing in line for an hour, yes 60 minutes, to try it this time. The fish... More

We were riding the trolley and just happened to see this gem! Stopped by and here was no line (apparently that's like winning the lottery based off other reviews) but after eating this deliciousness, the line is worth it if there is one! This is the real deal. Fresh. Local. Nothing better. We traveled the whole 101 coast and had... More

Make sure your trip to Astoria includes this unique place. Be advised the wait can be lengthy and not too much variety to select from but its worth the wait.

This is by far the most unusual place to grab a meal but it's an awesome experience. Make friends in line and enjoy the food! The only thing I can compare it to is The Halal Guys in midtown Manhattan. Long lines, good food, extremely popular.

The deep-fried, battered albacore is as good as any f & c around here, but the hour-long line on most days puts me off. Many customers seem happy, or at least not surprised, at the wait time. I have to attribute the throngs here to some secret internet channel that I do not subscribe to. Even wasting time can become... More

We loved the fish and chips! There was a line the whole time, but it is worth the wait. They are nice there. Cash only, no credit or debit. There are picnic tables to eat at and a view of the river across the street. It is across the street from the Mariners Museum, so you can park and walk... More
