Visited the Tavern while in the area for training. SUPER neat experience and authentic vibe! Kind of pricey but worth the money for the experience!

I always check trip advisor for reviews before we go eat and this was definitely a good choice. The prime rib was the best I had ever had and my husband had the lamb chops and was also very pleased. We even ate dessert which we usually pass on. We did the chocolate cake with raspberry over it. Oh my,... More

Had some drinks and crab dip? The drinks were very good and the crab dip was to die for. It was very tasty! The people that worked there were very pleasant and answered are questions we had about the place. It had a nice warm and cozy feeling about itself!

Great food, we had lunch there. Loved the authenticity with the real candle light on all the tables, and stone fireplaces. Great service and a nice historic building!

We had dinner one night in the main dining room and lunch the following day in the tavern. The decor is so well done you feel you are dining in 1863. Even the servers are in period attire. The food at both restaurants was excellent. Seeing the hidden mid-level where escaping slaves were hidden was interesting and well done using... More

Very good food, very tasty. No skimping on portions or service even when busy which they usually are. Love the old historic building. Parking can be tight. May be better to park elsewhere and walk to the restaurant.

I have visited the Dobbin house several times on VERY special occasions. The food is excellent, very primitive atmosphere, service is great, location is in the nice part of Gettysburg with easy access to RT 15. Very Romantic, eat by candle light.

We went to Dobbin House for our anniversary & absolutely loved the experience. We experienced what it was like to eat by candlelight back in the war days & were able to dine on some of the fare of those days. The wait staff are dressed in garb from those days. The ambiance is perfect, the food is delicious, &... More

Stopped in here with my husband, our daughter and her fiancee. Split a 'Rum Belly' with my husband. Place was full, as it was dinner time on a Saturday night, but we enjoyed the ambience and the drink.

Going to the cellar bar and restaurant for lunch sends you back in time 200 years. The atmosphere is enchanting. The food ranges from sandwich to filet mignon. The filet is amazing! Patty the bar tendress is a delight!
