I am surprised at all the 5 star reviews, I love American history and I adored the atmosphere and how well kept the average is, you really feel like you are back in time. Now, the food. It was awful. My son's burger was barely cooked and the size of a half dollar. My sandwich was dry, my husbands sandwich... More

Very interesting restaurant. Sit in the bar area and make sure you visit the attic! French onion soup was excellent!

This old structure converted to a restaurant is a neat place to have a meal. Very neat architecture, history, and story. Fits right in to the surrounding area. The food was very good too. We ate in the restaurant part, not the tavern downstairs. Delicious food. Great service, and just a fun atmosphere that fits right in to the surrounding... More

This place is so cool, you literally feel like you can imagine being there during its heyday. It is dark with real candles, crowded with small tables and the servers wear period dress. The food was okay but the experience was the best part of the visit.

Atmosphere, food and history of the building all make this a very special place and well worth a visit. At least for a drink if not a meal!

If you're looking for a great meal and period vibe, make reservations at Dobbin House. We ate in the restaurant and had an amazing meal. It started with a basket of warm fish breads and poppyseed muffins and huge scoops of fresh butter. We also sampled the French Onion soup. Make sure you order it. You won't regret it. We... More

We visited this tavern because the rating on Yelp. The ATMOSPHERE is wonderful, amazing and makes the visit totally worth it. I ordered the French Onion Soup, which they are purportedly known for. I LOVED IT. It was so good! I highly recommend it. The main course wasn't that great though. I ordered the crab cake sandwich, coleslaw and potato... More

As walk-ins on Sunday evening we were pleased to be able to enjoy a historic atmosphere and a quality menu at reasonable prices in this setting. However, lack of attention to our table turned a promising experience into one of disappointment for us. When asked why we had not received our bread basket, a featured component of all full service... More
