Basic BBQ with basic sides, nothing more than average and a bit greasy. It is a hole in the wall. My husband like it.

Enjoyed the barbecue ribs tonight along with some Mac and cheese and green beans. Ribs were huge and tasty, Mac and cheese awesome. Cute and interesting interior space. Anthony Bourdain ate here so you know it's good.

Came here because it was featured on a Food TV. The soul food was AMAZING! I really enjoyed it. I recommend this place if you are in the mood for soul food.

We wandered into Chef Ken's Cafe just to try something new. The $12 Blackened Salmon special drew us in. When we entered, we were greeted by Chef Ken and happy customers alike. The dining area was clean and organized, with hand sanitizer at every table (ribs). The walls are decorated with images of celebrities thanking Chef Ken for his fabulous... More

Bring your appetite if you are going! Chef Ken does not allow you to leave without a full stomach AND a doggie bag! His food is delicious and the chef (you are certain to meet him) is truly delightful. He loves to cook and he loves to feed you, no matter who you are. Eating at chef Ken's is like... More

My husband and I went here after seeing it on the Bourdaine show too and had to try it. You can't find food like that where I live. We went after spending some time in the city, starving. Unfortunately they weren't open for another hour. Watch the hours of operation. We ended up going to the bar across the street... More

Sides, entrees the full spread all home made. Set price for your meal and two sides, eat in or take out served in... More

So I went to Chef Ken's after I saw it on Anthony Bourdain's "The Layover," and it was AWESOME. I got this absolutely ridiculous dry-rubbed chicken platter for $10 that included some slamming green bean (with BBQ sauce on them) and smashed potatoes. It's right on Germantown Ave, in the heart of Mt Airy, so there are plenty of other... More

I visited this quaint restaurant for a soul food dinner. I was intrigued with the fact that all dinner platters were $10. I wasn't impressed with the food. The macaroni and cheese was drab and the green beans were tart. I'm not a picky eater but couldn't finish the food- I complained to the owner/chef about the green beans and... More
