We were in Philly in Oct. We were on a private tour of the city and asked the guide where we could get the best steak. He brought us to Campo's and were were not disappointed. The sandwiches were amazing. The staff was friendly. The place was clean. We will definitely go back!

Had a cheesesteak here because Sonny's was packed. Kind of dry, bread was good. This place cannot fry anything, so no French fries. The macaroni and cheese was very good. The staff was friendly. Sandwiches are large. I'd say okay, but I'm sure you can get a better cheesesteak elsewhere.

...they lose one green circle because of the portion size. Though not very expensive, I found myself finishing the sandwich and looking for another half. They would've gotten another green circle, but I absolutely cannot stand places that only take cash. If you don't like the transaction fees, I get that...but add twenty five cents to the cost of everything... More

Walking around the old town in Philadelphia, I came across a vintage looking deli selling the most delicious cheesesteak sandwiches. A big warm welcome matched the warm bread roll filled with succulent steak and American cheese. The options were numerous, but for me the original was a great choice. I can see why Campo's have been around since 1947 and... More

Campo's advertises that they package their Philly Cheesesteaks to travel. I ordered three sandwiches to go, they charge $11.00 for the smaller insulated bag and pack the bread and steak separately. The containers they packed the steak in leaked and the bag had numerous tears in the very cheap quality vinyl. The next day I heated up the sandwiches, but... More

When we arrived we was greeted with a friendly welcome to Campos...the delivery is family owned and they are very warm and welcoming. The cheese steaks were amazing, unlike the tourist traps who mass produce theirs... I will visit again when I come back to Philadelphia!

As posted in other reviews, my tour avoided the tourist mecca's of Pat's and Geno's. I stuck to the places that the people who work in steak shops love. This place got high reviews from locals. Though they have switched from the holy Amoroso rolls to a bakery in New Jersey (causing some purists to shun them), this place was... More

Well I couldn't wait to have my first Philly cheesesteak in Philadelphia. I asked around where the best place to go was. I was told Campo's. I then saw it was the "original" steak place. I ordered the "works" steak, provolone cheese, peppers, mushrooms. I ordered a Philly beer (Tavern Porter) which was good. The cheesesteak came and didn't have... More

A staff member at Independence Hall recommended this place. He said "no offense to the two famous places, but cheese whiz was NOT on the originally philly steaks". I was only a few blocks from the historical park. Order at the counter, beer is available if you are so inclined, service was very friendly. It was a nice day sober... More
