We've been to this restaurant four times and the meal has always been top notch. It's a small place so I highly recommend that you call ahead for reservations. They have a fabulous appetizer with two cheeses wrapped in prosciutto with arugula on the side. Very tasty. I usually order one of the specials such as lobster and crab stuffed... More

This is by far our favorite Italian restaurant in the city. It's a small byob and definitely recommend reservations. The staff is Amazing. Joe is the best server we've had anywhere, he definitely makes this place. Good food can be found, great help can't be easily found! Recommend the mushroom crepes and crab cakes for appetizer. The meat dishes are... More

This was our first visit and, gladly, it won't be our last. We were visiting from NY and went with friends. The restaurant is very rustic and comfortable. The service is very down to earth but also very professional. The food, especially the specials, is wonderfully prepared and filled with flavor. We enjoyed several different salads, antipasto's and the crab... More

Cosy, family run restaurant but I don't know about quiet like the last review said. We were there with a packed house (50) and it was hopping. Not so loud that we couldn't talk in normal voices but the energy was fantastic. Food like-wise fantastic. We were hooked when the bread was served with a delicious leek based spread. We... More

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this gem on our first night in Philadelphia! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice and quiet, perfect for a date night. Something to note, it is bring your own wine!

Went before had to be at the theater. The staff was very cognizant of getting us out on time. Ordered 2 specials and they were worth every penny. The cannelloni with bolognese sauce was incredible. The ravioli with shrimp and lobster was also very good but I think I would go with the cannelloni as my favorite. Started with the... More

Went there with my wife and sister. The seafood ravioli was unbelievable. The service is friendly and makes you feel like you are part of the family. I have been here a number of times and never had a bad experience. As I live in New Mexico, we do not have great Italian food. La Locanda is my favorite in... More

Tuesday evening, 6pm. While waiting for the rest of our group, I walked in and was welcomed by Joe, the waiter, what a character! We were one of three groups in the dining room at that time of night, Joe was the only waiter/server on due to a call out. The dining room filled up closer to 7pm and I... More

If i lived in Philadelphia this would be a once a week outing for me! I hadn't read enough reviews so didn't know that I needed to bring my own wine. It is also cash only. It didn't matter since the food was so delicious. And after our salad course the waiter brought over wine from another table--those people had... More

We were a party of 8. All non-US citizens, from 7 countries. The food is good, but rich. As with most American restaurants they use loads of cream and/or cheese The meat was prepared very well. I asked for a simple linguini with basil pesto and chilli pomodoro sauce. Not on the menu, but they produced a very tasty dish.... More
