We were a group of 4 and had decided we wanted to go to a small plates restaurant in order to share different things and keep the costs down. We had been to a bunch of other small plates restaurants in the city including several that were really good, but wanted to try a different restaurant. The location is a... More

I was in town for a week and so happy that we found this spot. My family and I ordered many small plates and split everything. We had the meatballs, mortadella, tar tar and ricotta cheese spread. Everything was delicious. For entrees we all ordered pasta and everything was amazing. I have to say the bolognese was my favorite. We... More

We had a great meal here. Meatballs, mortadella with honey, beef tartare, amazing and all pastas made fresh. The hangar steak was GREAT!! Philly LOVES salt, so ask to go light on the salt if you're not into it.

This is not your standard chicken parm and pasta joint that you'd find all over Philadelphia. Amis is offering an amazing assortment of Italian dishes that have been taken to the next level. The highlights of the meal were the Roman Tripe Stew, which had a rich taste and hearty mouth feel. It's one of those dishes you'd eat without... More

SO Good! We had one of the better meals of our lives tonight! The rabbit antipasti was absolutely amazing! We also had the fresh mozza, sweet bread, mortadella moose, strip steak, lamb ragu, and jalapeño pasta. We finished it off with the Belgium waffle, Nutella, and ice cream. Everything was absolutely perfect! The service was especially great too. We really... More

Went to Amis for dinner with a friend. As we walked in the door we were immediately welcomed. Sat at the bar and had a drink. The bartenders were extremely kind and friendly. Our dinner was amazing from the appetizer to the desert. I had the bucatini and it was amazing. You will not be disappointed if you are looking... More

After reading the menu online, I was really looking forward to our reservation. The decor is industrial and the staff wear mechanic style shirts with the name patch. It all looked super cool, and the staff was fun and enthusiastic. We had two nice starters, nothing amazing and delicious bottle of wine. The linguine and clams was so peppery it... More

We used to eat here a while ago and we loved it. Haven't been in a while, but tried it last night. Our server was knowledgeable and pleasant, the staff was nice, responsive. That's where the good part ends. The food has really lost the special quality and flavor we used to love. I am sad about it, actually. Then... More

The atmosphere is casual & quite dark with no frills bare distressed wood tables. Our evening meal with friends was truly a disappointment. Entrees are overpriced & we were appalled with the small portions when they arrived at to our table. The lamb shoulder was pounded out to simulate flat crispy pancakes, the swordfish was a thin sliver of a... More

If you love sampling a bit of everything, Amis is your spot for Italian small plates in Philly. We're obviously not alone, since in both of our visits here, the restaurant has been packed. While it's a bit loud and the tables are closely set, Amis still exudes a casual, upscale vibe where you don't feel hurried but still a... More

Amis brings the quintessential Roman-style trattoria to Philadelphia's Center City neighborhood. Opened in 2010 by Vetri Family partners Jeff Benjamin and Chefs Marc Vetri, Brad Spence and Jeff Michaud, Amis has cemented its place as one of the city's premier dining destinations, garnering high praise from such publications as the Philadelphia Inquirer (three-out-of-four-bells) and Bon Appetit magazine ("Top 10 Places for Pasta in the U.S."), and from the crowds of regular guests who pack its dining room nightly for dinner and weekends for brunch. Lively, comfortable and convivial, dining at Amis is perfect for a variety of occasions, boasting a share-plates menu of house-made pasta, salumi, farm-fresh meats and peak seasonal vegetable dishes, perfect for sharing while celebrating with friends and family, or a meal out with someone special. Be sure to ask about our "Beast of Amis" menu too. These special dishes feature whole animals-birds, hogs, fish and even full sides of beef.
