I am from out of town and I was driven there by the reviews which were by inexperienced morons. If ever you had good fresh sushi, and you go here, you'll know immediately that it is nothing like what the reviews say. The fish was not fresh, the sushi portions were razor thin, and it tasted like it was old.... More

We had read good reviews about Zento but our experience wasn't that great. We split the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempira as appetizer and it was ok. Average I would say. My wife ordered the Chicken Sukiyaki as main course. The portion was very generous but the soup was too sweet. Not sure why they added so much sugar. I ordered... More

I wrote a previous review and didn't realize that I've been frequenting Zento since 2012! It's still a fantastic place! Intimate and quiet. You'd go right past it if you didn't know it was there. Philly "celebs" (i.e, sports ppl) frequent there so they can dine in peace. There are plenty of regulars who live in the city & can... More

My daughter and I came on a Wednesday when they opened for dinner. We ordered miso soup with mussels which was inedible. We sent it back. The sushi was just ok, although the rice appeared to be plain rice, not prepared with the usual rice vinegar. Service was sub-par. I would recommend elsewhere.

This is a nice restaurant, but the prices seem a bit mis-matched for the quality of the food. The food is good. We had a sashimi and chirashi and udon. All of them were acceptable. The chirashi rice was probably a more dressed than we would have liked with sauces and such, none of which is necessary. The variety of... More

Good fresh food in a great part of town (Olde City). Nice dimly lit atmosphere is a good place for a party of 2. It gets a little crowded on the weekends

Outside appearances can be very deceiving. As we entered the queen zento restaurant and sushi bar buy two very friendly employees. We have reservations and we're giving a very quiet intimate table in the corner. The wine and beverage menu and the restaurant menu for exceptional and reasonably priced. We both had a seafood dish and it was fresh, tasty,... More

There are 2 sushi restaurants on the same block, this is the one to walk into. Service is friendly and attentive. The sushi is beautiful and tasty. There is also a large sake list with great choices. While the restaurant is small, you do not feel like you are sitting on top of your neighbor. Now, if your neighbor has... More
