Popi’s Place VI in Bradenton is among the few remaining chef-family-owned Florida restaurants. We still prepare and serve the food the way it was decades ago. We pride ourselves in servicing good home-style food and we strive to offer our customers a friendly place to enjoy a freshly-cooked meal.

Great supper

Between concerts at the convention center we enjoyed a delicious meal here. Our waitress was fun, thoughtful and efficient. We each enjoyed what we ordered. It is a busy restaurant. Some entrees require more prep time and that is clearly marked on the menu. We will return!

Pleasant surprise

Found this place by chance while looking for lunch. Very pleasant surprise. Had the lunch special which was goulash and it was wonderful. It came with a salad and asked the waitress to bring whatever dressing they were bragging about. She brought an Italian dressing that was different and delicious. Place is clean and full of folks.

Top Notch family breakfast or brunch!!!

Consistent, very good quality, prices very decent. Service above expectations…variety of choices exemplary. Can order wine or beer. Staff very attentive, they actually care that you receive what you ordered… Could take large groups, or 6-12 and be very pleased. Quality food, decent prices, good atmosphere for kids and families… Thank you Popis!

Disappointing

We have been going to this location since it first opened many years ago. I ordered breakfast and requested my toast dry. Before the waitress came for my order I noticed a patron trying to rid her toast of the over abundance of "butter" by dragging the slices along the edge of her plate. When I placed my order I requested the toast to be dry. My eggs came as ordered; but the bacon was a "burnt offering." Every slice of the bacon was black. The toast come out smothered in butter. The watiress finally came to see if everything was OK. I showed her the bacon and toast. She took the plate and asked if I wanted a coffee refil. I said yes and she took the cup along with the plate. She returned immediately saying she swipped my bacon out for the slices now on my plate. Since she did it I have to idea if she used her bare hands or what. If the cook did it I would presume a utensil would have been used. I did get fresh, dry toast. The other servers brought a pot of coffee to the tables and booths in order to refil the cups. I finally had to get her attention (no, they were not busy. In fact, the opisite.) to ask for my coffee. She admitted she forgot about it. If I decide to go to Popi's again I will go to the one in Ellenton where Popi or her husband are. This location was so different when they visited it frequently so many years ago.

Guess its time to go elsewhere

I stopped in this morning for breakfast. The waitress quickly came to ask if I wanted coffee. I ordered coffee along with my breakfast selectiond, indicating I wanted my toast to be dry. As the waitress was leaving I again mentioned the toast was to be dry and she responded, "I heard you!" My order came and the toast was dripping in butter; the plate held a different selection of potatoes, and the eggs were warm, not hot. When the waitress returned to see if everythink was okay, I showed her the toast but didn't comment on anything else. Leaving the original plate of toast on the table she returned with bread ends of dry toast. Over the years, this location's food and service have declined and many new places have opened offering great breakfst selections. I can't name recommendaitons for other places here; but, do encourage dinners to check out other places.

Where's the fried chicken???

Well we went for the Fried Chicken, they don't do fried chicken any more. Breaded chicken strips, chicken wraps, and a chicken sandwich. But no Fried Chicken. Disapointment over took us. My wife had the Liver and onions. ok but nothing above ok. I had a "Philly Cheesesteak" it was food but nothing that anyone from Philly would call a "Philly Cheesesteak" Clean, Good service, plenty of parking and no fried chicken.

Excellent omelet and waitress

Excellent omelet and waitress ! This is the first time that I have a had a ham ,cheese , and tomato omelet that had cheese at the ends even ... not just bunched up in the middle. The home fries were delicious , as well. In addition, everything was hot! Our waitress, Jessica, was pleasant and friendly taking care of us in a perfect manner.

Excellent food and excellent service

Everyone loved their meals - chicken fried steak, fried chicken and gravy, eggs Benedict. The biscuits are delicious! There was no wait but a good crowd inside. The waitress was very polite, friendly and attentive. We will be back!

Best Greek Resturant in Bradenton super value.

Medium size restaurant in a mall. A lovely Greek family runs it. The menu is very large and varied. They even had a rare favorite of mine beef stroganoff. Everything is good so you don't need to order the specials and deserts are huge. Prices are reasonable and service is prompt and friendly. Try it you will become a regular.

Father's Day Breakfast

In homor of Father's Day, I went to Popi's for one of my Dad's favorite breakfasts: biscuits and gravy. As expected, the place was PACKED with families taking Dad out for breakfast. Service was quick and my coffe cup never got empty Great spot for breakfast

Terrific Restaurant from menu to prices

Exceptional cafe restaurant with a very large menu offering. They offer American and Greek dishes. Service was done by a Greek family so it was very friendly. Food was delicious and generous. Prices are reasonable. Try it you cannot go wrong.

Best breakfast in manatee county. Great service. Owners very friendly. Can’t wait to go back. Prices very reasonable. Love the Greek salad. Every time we visit the area it’s a must. Do t overlook this gem. They have several locations. Tammy on 301 and Gina on 41 are the best !

Great Food

Popi's place is a great place to go for really good food. I had the liver and Onions and they were excellent. Also the crab-cakes were the best we had during or week in Florida. we like the fried best but grilled were great also.

A hidden jewel.

Popis is a jewel. Home made food and more than reasonable in cost. We went there for lunch a while ago and it was great as well. Should be on the Diners TV show!!

Great place for large groups in the morning.
