Is one of the saving graces for this older restaurant. Seating was quick & easy for our team dinner out. The staff was quick and attentive, drinks arrived promptly so no problems. Appetizer was the Sautéed Mushrooms with cold beers. The price for beef here is way too high but I went with the 10 oz rib eye steak ($$$) served with Caesar salad, baked bread and baked potato.
All in all an average meal at a higher price.

The restaurant was kind enough to take a reservation for 14. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. The salad bar is expansive and includes not only salads, but soup and several desserts. Most of us ordered beef dishes which included the salad bar. I liked that there were disposable gloves for us to use while making our salad bar selections. I ordered the filet mignon and it was tender and tasty, but the presentation left a lot to be desired. It was in three pieces with minimal bacon wrapping. I had to ask the waiter if it was actually the filet. Another person at the table ordered the same item, and it came properly wrapped with bacon and looked much better.
Everyone in the group said the beef dishes were excellent.

I just restaurant based on other restaurants no paso which pretty much suck in general. This restaurant left me with a much better feeling than the others
Overall good experience. Hand breaded hand Tenderised Chicken fried steak that was already salty. country gravy that wasn't overly salty or add to much pepper Only bad thing was the potato was gold gold it would not even melt butter. Outrageously good salad bar

I just left the restaurant and I am actually pissed! I was by myself as I am on a business trip. I was seated right away and the waitress came a couple of minutes later and took my order of jumbo shrimp with baked potato. The waitress brought out the bread and they were rock hard! I told the waitress that the bread were hard and she said that’s all we have but I will check the back for fresher ones. I never got it. Then I noticed that my order was taking a while, the table with the people that came after me who they obviously know because they were laughing and talking with them while I was waiting for my fresh bread, already got their food and we’re almost done eating when I finally got my jumbo fried shrimp and I almost choked on my rock hard bread when I saw them. See the picture for yourself. This is $19! It took them almost 30 minutes to make this! What a joke! Then the waitress asked me if I did not like the shrimp because I told her that I just want it to go at this point. Are you for real? Highly recommend you go somewhere else!

Having eaten well at Cattle Baron’s many times in recent years the meal I had yesterday came as a shock, quite literally one of the worst I have had anywhere. In a nutshell, the green chili stew consisted largely of inedible chunks of gristle . Additionally, it appears the cook spiked the stew with excessive, and I mean over the top quantities here, of cayenne. I informed the waitress that the stew was inedible. Her response, “ it is spicy and full of green chili.” Spicy green chili was not the issue here. This was nauseatingly bad. Food this dreadful should never leave the kitchen.

This place has an awesome salad bar, highly recommended. That said, we also ordered the prime rib which showed up with a slightly sour smell and a borderline rancid flavor. This is a shame as we had ordered the prime rib on a previous visit and it had been excellent. We mentioned the issue to the waiter who claimed to have “spoken” with the manager, but apparently that person couldn’t be bothered. Paid and left to avoid a scene. Not sure if we will return for the salad bar, but we will definitely not be back for prime rib.

We were on a family visit with several children. The waiting time to be served was somewhat long and it also took them a long time to serve us, just over 25 minutes. We ordered salad which was very good; We also ordered rib eye, one was pretty good and the other was really bad, it didn't look like rib eye either in the shape or the amount of fat it had. We also ordered salmon, which tasted good but the portion was small, a sirloin from the children's menu which was very good and a grilled chicken dish, which was quite good.

Have been to Cattle Baron in Ruidoso, but not here in El Paso. Really similar with a rather lavish salad bar. I had the 6 oz. Prime Rib, which was cooked perfectly and larger than I had expected. Baked potato was above average, fully loaded. Salad is not included with the entree, so an extra expense, but again, you can find a lot of vegetables to stack on it at the salad bar.

Appetites, large or small, Cattle Baron has something for everyone. Great, diverse menu, lunch or full portions, amazing salad bar. Service put this place over the top. If you are near Ft. Bliss and/or El Paso International Airport, this is the stop to make for some really good food.

I drove my youngest daughter 1700 miles from Ohio to El Paso so she could bring her car to her first duty station at Ft. Bliss. I took her to Cattle Baron for dinner the night before I was to fly back home. Everything was cooked to order and very delicious! I highly recommend coming here at least once when visiting El Paso.

My husband liked his steak and fries. Had a ribeye with peppercorn. I liked the sweet potato fries with home made honey mustard sauce. We went on a Sunday night so quieter and not too noisy. I think the dead animals on the walls is not a great idea. Also the women's bathroom needed some cleaning.

My wife and I had dinner here one evening during a recent visit to El Paso. I was thinking about a steak but I wasnt really hungry so decided on the hamburger and sweet potato fries. I dont eat burgers very often and this one was delicious! My wife enjoyed her meal also. It's a popular place so you may have a short w as it without a reservation. Recommended!

I had the blackened catfish, mashed potatoes and salad bar. The blackened catfish was really good. The mashed potatoes were a little dry. The salad bar was the usual salad bar, nothing fancy or special.

Set in the bar. Nacho is great and makes a delicious strawberry margarita! We had the salad bar. They are not open in Indiana so it was a real treat. Just mask up, sanitize and wear gloves. Hoping we can eat here again when we fly out if time permits.
