Traveling through town the hotel recommended Julio’s and we were not disappointed. Dinner started with classic chips and salsa which both had great flavor. The Margaritas came next and were delicious. I wouldn’t say they were unique, but they tasted like what I would expect.
The real treat was dinner. I had 2 chicken enchiladas and 1 beef, with half/half red/green sauce. My wife had chicken tacos. Excellent food after a long travel day. When we received the bill we were quite surprised at the low price.
The staff were attentive without being obnoxious. Water glasses and salsa were kept full. If we are in El Paso again we will visit.

It had been almost a decade since I had decent carnitas, but I got my fix at Julio's. Excellent Mexican food: queso fundido, chiles toreados, corn tortillas, carnitas, horchata, ALL FRESH. As if the food wasn't enough, Mike (our waiter) was simply awesome. He was very accomodating to all our requests and made my first lunch in El Paso truly one to remember.

This is my kind of Mexican Food with a Tex=Mex touch. Not bad atmosphere and our waiter was friendly, helpful and spot on. Chips are really good, salsa is average, but there guacamole is excellent! I don't know what they do different, but it had a little something others don]t. I love it! I had some thinly slice sirloin with onions and cilantro on soft flour tortillas. Really good. My friend had flautas and said they were also very good. Didn't have room for dessert but I'll try next time. I recommend this place.

We went here with a party of 8 and everything about our visit was subpar. The service was very slow, the Chile con queso was very basically just a glob of melted cheese and the salsa tasted like canned tomato sauce. Definitely would not recommend to anyone.

I have eaten Mexican food all my life, so when I speak of it, I compare it with hundreds of restaurants over the last 55 years. Julio's was a favorite of mine when visiting Cuidad Juarez, right across the Rio Grande from El Paso. Back before the drug cartels took over Mexico, and it was safe to go to Juarez, Julio's was not just good food but very inexpensive too. A Mexican combination plate would cost under $5. Excellent food, service and prices. Julio's decided if customers would no longer come to Mexico, then Julio's would come across the river to El Paso. I tried the location on Gateway East expecting the same experience I enjoyed in Juarez. My combination plate was so spicy hot, I could not eat it. Service was poor. Prices were triple what I expected. I spoke to the manager about the inedible food and he just shrugged and said, "It is not for Gringos" and laughed. I have to agree.

A friend of mine and I take a trip ever year to El Paso and have been going to Julio's at least once every trip for the alst 15 years. The last couple of years the food has been going down hill. The staff is still nice and th erestaurant bar is nice but the quality oif food and drink has not to the point where we might stop going to Julio's. It is sad, but the fod is not fresh, is served luke warm, and even when they offerred to re do it it was still sub par. Everyone there is still nice but it simplky is not very good anymore.

Hubby and I frequent Julio's and rarely been disappointed, but today it was different. We ordered chicken mole because rhe menu photo looked delish. Quite a whole different story when it arrived. Before I go any further, the waiter, Mario, had a personality of a door knob. He wore his face mask below his nose and seemed very disoriented. Back to the dish. It appeared that shredded chicken was thrown into a plate and mole "soup" was poured. Yes, the mole was soupy, enough for me to ask for a spoon. I asked for the hostess (a tall girl unfamiliar to us), who came around before we were served, and told her about the plate and our loyalty. She said she was sorry, but that's it. We didn't get it removed from the bill. $14 shot in the butt. Bad food, bad waiter, bad hostess.

Visited the Artcraft location with my wife with high hopes as we had visited the Joe Battle location many years ago and we had such a wonderful experience...we were NOT greeted by any of the two hostesses present. Not even an acknowledgment! Upon our arrival, they ignored us a few minutes while seating an elderly couple who did not like the table that was assigned to them initially and wanted to change tables. Meanwhile, more people kept coming in. After waiting (and being ignored) some more, one of them FINALLY asked (with a s**t face in a very petulant and rude manner) - "who was here first?". I didn't like her tone of voice but still replied that we were there first. Furthermore, upon hearing my response, she rolled her eyes at me as if she was doing me a favor by even talking to me. Sad to see this kind of treatment to customers. It's her job to greet people for God's sake! But I guess this is too much to ask given her poor and inept customer service skills.
We immediately left the premises as I will not tolerate being addressed to in such a disrespectful manner. We'll take our business elsewhere.
Julio's management ought to fire such incompetent personnel.

This was our first visit to Julio’s and we could not have been more pleased! We were greeted very warmly as we entered the restaurant. We loved the ambiance, the cleanliness, the food, and the service - all were superb. Our server was Estef who took very good care of us. The owner, Jorge, came over to ask how our experience was. He, too, was very personable and friendly.
My husband had the Chicken Fajitas and I had the Wrapped Fish Fillet and, OMG! Everything was so flavorful. Our only regret is that we don’t have Julio’s in our neighborhood.

My wife and I each ordered a steak dinner. Hers was a NY strip. In reality it looked like it was a leftover prime rib sliced into a serving. It was dry and tasteless. Mine was a thin sliced Mexican style steak. It was tough and only had taste due to the spices and butter melted onto it. I would not recommend this restaurant to a friend.

Second visit was not good. The food was mediocre at best. We agree with the previous reviewer regarding the quality of the food. We had to return the queso that tasted old and had curled cheese in it. We would not return....

What a lovely restaurant! They checked our temperatures to be safe, everyone wore a mask and the staff was super friendly. This was perhaps the best Mexican food we’ve eaten. It was delicious. We went early so it was fairly empty. Can’t wait to go back!

We’re from Tucson, the Mexican food capital, so we know good Mexican food and this place was fabulous! We both ordered something out of the ordinary and both plates were demolished! The chips ‼️ and salsa were the bomb and service was on point. We would definitely reroute a trip to eat here again!

Had a really great lunch here, just picked it from trip advisor as a restaurant close to where we needed to be (visiting for the day). We each had a lunch special, both equally good. Very nice servers, lots of parking, restaurant full. We would definitely return.

The puerco pibil was one of the best dishes we have ever had. One person in our group kept scraping his dish trying to get more of the delicious sauce My wife's pork had a huge piece of fat which was disappointing but was the only down side of an otherwise excellent meal.
