We went to Carlos and Mickey's to celebrate a brief visit from a family member not seen for several years, and chose to dine in rather than "take out." That was probably a mistake. The place was packed...if any tables have been removed, it was still very crowded, almost certainly a larger crowd than currently allowed. One room had two large tables with birthday parties, and there was a huge amount of noise, fueled by the giant margaritas most were drinking. The only visible masks were worn by servers. In different times I'd give this restaurant a higher overall rating. It has a interesting group of separate rooms, with lots of interesting photographs related to its history. The menu is very large with many options. Some items are very spicy...guacamole is full of jalapenos, and those not used to eating that level of heat should be careful. Margaritas are excellent!

We decided that since we wouldn’t get home until later tonight (like 9 or 10pm), we decided to eat at the airport. There was a little Mexican restaurant, called Carlos and Mickey's, before getting to the security gates. Since the Frontier folks hadn’t gotten there, we decided to eat. We were served by a nice fellow who started us off with chips and salsa. The chips were whole fried corn tortillas. We were skeptical that they would be good. But they were. Very light and crispy. The salsa was also good. Not hot. But tasty. My wife and I shared a chicken chimichanga smothered in a red sauce. It was fine. Lots and lots of chicken, unseasoned and bland chicken. The sauce was also rather bland. Not hot. And not very tasty. It was accompanied by a dollop of sour cream and guacamole, lettuce and tomato, rice (not bad) and beans (also not bad). It was a good way to have something to eat as well as take up some time. And the prices were very reasonable. Particularly for an airport.

I was very impressed by the decorations on every wall of the restaurant. Each room is different. It is nice that the background music is mariachi which helps make a truly Mexican atmosphere. The menu is extensive and it is difficult to decide what to order from so many choices. Food prep and presentation is superb. It is very attractive and appetizing. I highly recommend the red enchiladas. They are my favorite. Add a great Mexican beer with it and you have a borderland comfort meal. Best to visit in between lunch and dinner times to avoid the loud crowds.

I went to the Sun Bowl which ended by 4pm and allowed me to go up scenic drive to watch the sunset. I went for dinner at Carlos & Michael’s early and found a seat un the bar at a tiny table with 1 seat. I had 1 house margarita which was almost undrinkable and steak tacos which had tiny strips of meat on thick corn tortillas. I probably made the wrong dinner choice as the place was packed and obviously popular.

Service was good, employees very attentive, food is mostly tailored for tourist not very good Mexican food for El Paso, they serve white rice instead of real Mexican rice they have a very mild watery salsa, asked for some red hot salsa, don't have any. beans tasted like they came out of a can. Was not impressed with the flautas I ordered. Would not recommend as a good Mexican Restaurant. Visitors try L & J instead.

Simple two page front and back menu. Very tasty guacamole, real con queso, tasty salsa. The fresh tortillas were very nice. Tacos Pastor were had pineapple, strip meat. Shrimp quesidilla was packed with shrimp. The coffee has a tinge of cinnamon and was fabulous. And we love coffee and this was one of the best coffees we have ever had. The sopappias and fried ice cream were very outstanding. The soppapias came out piping hot with a bottle of honey.

We found this place using a coworkers phone app and it was way better than we initially thought it would be. I like the decor and the family pictures on the walls throughout the restaurant tell quite the story. The beers were reasonably priced and the meal of Tampiquena Steak, Carnitas Pork Tips, Mexico City combo platter and never ending chips with house salsa made sure that not a single person pushed away from the table hungry! Stop in and enjoy a meal or couple dozen visits here.

I’m not a huge fan of Tex Mex or Mexican food but this was some of the best I’ve had anywhere. I had a combo platter with an enchilada in red sauce, tostada, and taco with refried beans. The red sauce is the best I’ve had, spicy but not overwhelmingly so. The refried beans were also some of the best I’ve ever had. And excellent margaritas too. To top it off was the fried ice cream which was good but nothing special. Our waiter was nice. Service was slow but the food was superior. I would love to eat here again.

Carlos and Mickeys has the best chicken enchaladas in El Paso. My better half always enjoys the Mexican Plate with one of their outstanding margaritas. The service is always good but they can become rather crowded for dinner so be prepared to wait for your table, grab a margarita at the bar and relax.

We kept our food simple as we had a drive ahead of us. I enjoyed the crisp, freshly made tostada chips and salsa. The salsa was not too chunky and not to liquidy, spot on flavor. I ordered the tortilla soup with chicken and quesadillas. She ordered albóndigas with quesadillas. I though the albóndigas had a good ratio of meat and vegetables, however the broth was a little bland. The tortilla soup on the other hand was rich and flavorful. I have never had a soup like it. The tomato base or whatever they tossed in added an amazing element that kept me wanting more. The quesadillas used store bought tortilllas which was disappointing. I figured since they made their own chips we would get fresh tortillas too. Anyhow, service was great.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food with a great atmosphere, look no further! This was the second time an extended group of 30+ family members gathered here at the Magruder Street location for dinner. Wait service was top notch, food arrived quickly and piping hot, and every request (and there were many with this number of people) was met with a smile. And, on top of everything else, our request for separate checks was accommodated. When you're in El Paso, please check them out. You will be glad you did.

I was in town for business and my customer wanted to eat here and now I see why. I love carintas and this place had some of the best I have ever had. THe salsa was fresh and very spicy just like it should be. If I lived in El Paso I would eat here all the time. I cant wait to go back.

We have been here countless times and every time is a good time! The atmosphere is inviting with live music playing, drinks flowing freely and people having a great time. The food is equally as good too and never disappoints. The queso fundido with chorizo is delectable and addicting! The bacon wrapped shrimp is scrumptious. You can't just have one! The rib eye is cooked to perfection! The margaritas are thirst quenching and perfect after a long day at work! The restaurant is good for all occasions! Come on by even for just a drink! CHEERS!

We saw so many good reviews on TA, but we were not impressed with the food; it is just OK. I had the carnitas, which has been well reviewed here, but I have to say, if these are ‘the best in town,’ go out of town for carnitas. I love them and try them whenever I see them on the menu, and this take isn’t great: dry and flavorless pork. The rice that came with it was equally bland and greatly unremarkable. The cowboy beans were pretty good. Skip this dish! My wife had the crab rellenos, which were an improvement over what I ordered but nothing special, and again served with bland refried beans and the same bland white-ish rice I had with the carnitas. Horchata was good. The chips and salsa were delicious! I had high hopes based on these items, but dinner was pretty forgettable. The service was outstanding! Arlette was very attentive and the kitchen is fast. What comes out is average.

Good choice for solid, dependable Mexican food. Had a combination plate and everything was tasty. Husband has enchiladas and thought they were good as well. Two slight negatives. First the service was a little on the slow side-- I think our waitress was slammed. Second there was a 3% credit card fee- odd when they should be encouraging credit card use instead of discouraging it.
