We ate here on Thanksgiving. They had a price fixe meal - $30 for an entree with two sides. It was delicious. Restaurant is small (7 or 8 tables). Service was good. We would definitely return.

Service was on the shoulders of one young woman and it took a while for her to emerge to even notice we were there. The brunch offering sounded great but the mojitos were very weak and the Caesar Kale Salad was a huge pile of kale with some seasoned tofu on it. Our son paid the bill but dropping $200... More

This is a little gem steps away from Washington Square. Tour around the village then pop in here for amazing organic vegan food! We tried the Reuben, and 3 tapas. They were all to die for! I also highly recommend the beet lemonade! Beautiful food, cozy atmosphere and great friendly service! If there are any tour guides by the door,... More

We went here as we thought it had something for everybody. We we were excited about the soups so the group of us tried 3 different ones. None were above average :(. I tried the Greek Salad. There was nothing Greek about it other than maybe olives. My niece tried the Mexican special which was the best choice of the... More

Great Vegan food, especially their seitan dishes. I personally find their food to be very tasty, I always crave their seitan dishes. Of course I like many of their other dishes as well, but for me, I have never found comparable seitan dishes. Great job @ Sacred Chow.

It's vegan, and the menu sounded great BUT the food was heavy, not very flavorful, and we all left disappointed. The root vegetable latkes were heavy and not spiced much. My "omelette" was heavy and again, did not have much flavor. The sweet potatoe hash was great - it was a side dish. The french toast while flavorful was, again,... More

After some fantastic comedy, we were on the hunt for some veg snacks when we landed at Sacred Chow. Loved their tapas selection with the BBQ seating (I believe), the roasted potatoes, and their feature of the day APPLE PIE! The menu features numerous seasonal dishes, so you'll want to call for what is on feature. They were just about... More

I went there in a party of four for dinner. The place is very small but not noisy and has a homey feel. The service was good: fast and personal. The food was all solid: well made, healthy and tasty. There cuisine is not subtle or complex but portions are medium sized and ingredients were fresh. It's in the center... More

We ate here our first night in the city. It was cold and a bit rainy. The atmosphere was OK a little cold. They have a selection of Tapas which were tasty. We ordered the potatoes, root vegetable latkes, greek salad, tempeh reuben in a wrap. The food was good. The service was really slow and we never got our... More

I'm usually open for any type of food but Vegas/kosher- perhaps with hesitation but the opportunity presented and I'm glad I took it. The place is small but cozy. The menu covers all the things that I wouldn't think they will make for non vegan/kosher but they do and it was tasty. The hostess was very nice and helped explaining... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighbourhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighbourhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
