We enjoyed the food here, especially the guacamole prepared tableside. It's a nice family-friendly place featuring a menu with a lot of variety. However, I would not recommend the churros, as they arrived quite hard and overcooked. The best item we tried was the brisket...More

I hadn’t been to Rosa in several years. It was packed on a Saturday night. We were seated 45 minutes after our reservation which we were not happy about. Drinks were good. Food was fresh and good. Great guacamole. Prices on high end for Mexican.

For years I have heard about this place from family members as it is around the corner from where we stay in NY. So finally this time I decided to give it a try. The famous guacamole was ok but far from the best I...More

This place was recommended by a friend and it didn’t disappoint. Wonderful quacamole dip. Great margaritas and delicious food. Since I come from California I was not that interested in eating Mexican food in NYC but I was pleasantly surprised.

Went on a Saturday lunch early enough to get the brunch dishes. I had their version of eggs Benedict (served on a sort of corn bread). Very tasty.

While we love the fancy NYC restaurants, sometimes it's nice to eat somewhere comfortable and happy. That was Rosa for us recently. As everyone else has said, the table side guacamole was wonderful. The food was basic and satisfying. We were there on a weeknight...More

Our flagship location opened its doors on First Avenue in 1984 and was bestowed with a glowing, two-star review from The New York Times. From the moment you arrive, old world charm permeates your dining experience through authentic Mexican colors and rustic folk art. Traditional amate gods greet you at the front entrance and brightly colored papel picado hangs from the ceiling. Corn tortillas are made on site and an exposition grill further seduces your senses. With its warm ambiance and outstanding cuisine, this Rosa Mexicano location has remained a perennial New York favorite for over 20 years.
