This place is difficult to get into. You can only book if you are staying at the adjacent hotel, at least that was what we were told. I'm a bit puzzled about the popularity. The food is OK, but relative to the abundent competition did...More

Came here on a Friday in June -- it was especially busy around dinner time (30 minute wait for a 2 person table, say around 8PM). We patiently waited because the menu looked delicious and it was a beautiful afternoon in the city. I will...More

I had wanted to eat at Gemma for a couple of years now and we managed to on the first evening of our recent trip to NYC. It was about 5.30pm so the restaurant was pretty quiet and we had no trouble securing a table....More

Great every time. Very busy popular buzzy. We love it. Food is fantastic. Very tasty. Very large portions. My veal escalope was 3!! large portions. You won't go home hungry. And you'll have a smile on your face.

Relaxed restaurant with good eating and wining. Loved the fairly large bar and not to mention the style of it all. Staff were a lot better than average

The bar is great with very friendly service. The service in general is good but it is an extremely noisy place with the worse pasta dishes I had in NYC. I had the pappardelle with ragout sauce which was really tasteless and full of salt...More

This is a nice restaurant. The guy at the bar very cool and helpful. The food is not so great. We've ordered pizzas. And they are pretty average, we expected something more espectacular for the price. The decoration is great

Had lunch here and the restaurant was pretty empty. I need to start by saying the staff barely speaks English so get ready. They brought us a bread bowl which was delicious, after about 5 minutes a busser comes by to ask if he can...More

East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college
students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the
old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of
the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to
