We went for lunch around 1:30 pm. The restaurant was short staffed and we had to ask for water. Our drinks did not come until our food was served. The octopus was not very pleasing and sent back.

My wife and I really liked Fig and Olive. We came here after a shopping expedition to Bloomingdales. We went to F&O for brunch/lunch. Food was excellent. I tried the 3 course meal - the butternut squash & Chestnut soup was very good. Best quiche I have had in quite a while ... and oh my the chocolate pot de... More

Had a Saturday lunch with a vegetarian friend and selected Fig & Olive for their menu choices. We each had salads, both very good and shared some skinny fries with truffle oil and parmesan--de-lish! Two complaints--service was slow and the three items set us back $ 44 without tip.

We walked here from the Met. A sweet place on Lex with an interesting set up. The food was remarkable. French and plenty. Anything with chestnuts and goat cheese makes me happy. My meal came with an app and desert. I was in neaven!

Pasta dishes were fabulous! Took two very hungry 13 year old girls and they cleaned their plates! Loved it!

We enjoyed a lunch here recently - I liked this place quite a lot. It is located in a bustling shopping neighborhood on the Upper East side. We both ordered the prix-fixe lunch, which is a good value. Food was very good. Atmosphere is nice: stylish but relaxed. Service was adequate, but a bit stiff. Could be much more welcoming.... More

Friends from out of town with whom we had Sunday brunch agreed that this was a fine choice. The noise level was moderate so we could talk comfortably. The tables are not widely spaced but our neighbors and we could keep our own conversations private. The restaurant is attractive in appearance---wood-topped tables, lots of white and wood. The servers were... More

Description
At FIG & OLIVE, we want to highlight our menu’s core ingredient of olive oil, which we use in place of butter in our dishes. From a sweet and delicate olive oil from the French Riviera that pairs well with a Steamed Lemon Sole Papillote to an assertive Spanish Picual or a Tuscan olive oil that holds its own with Seared Salmon with Fennel and Green Olives, and a green-fruit Provence olive oil that we serve with a Green Apple Sorbet. Our cuisine along with an elegant white, green and terra-cotta décor immerse our guests into the essence of the Mediterranean region.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
