We went out of our way to find Eileen's, having read reviews online and seen it mentioned on a travel show in the UK. My son ordered a chocolate mousse (he's not a cheesecake fan), and the rest of us had the small but perfectly...More

We were in the area so we're lucky enough to grab our first Eileen's cheesecake. The portions are great as all little individual cheesecakes. There are many differant types to try I went for red velvet and really enjoyed it. There was a queue when...More

A classical NY cheesecake was on if the items on our to do list for the NY trip. Eileen's place was recommended and lived up to the expectations. Plain and banana were very good.

Make this a place to visit. The fact that it’s SoHo means you get to take in a lot more by just finding the place. It is a narrow doorway and has very few seats. We arrived after 4 pm but got served right away....More

Salted caramel is a little salty. Cherry, cookies and cream, and coconut were good choices. Single servings were perfect size.

The cheesecakes are good but not marvelous. I think we expected more and got a little disappointed. We really miss Carnegie Deli.

My fiancee recommended Eileen's based on TA reviews, and it didn't disappoint! Every mouthful was a delight! Smooth, light and fluffy, every mouthful was divine. Best of all, it didn't taste like sugar-infused cheesecake that leaves you feeling lethargic and sick. The Strawberry cheesecake is...More

Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita
maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant
retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for
“North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to
be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is
popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of
the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry,
Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping,

Funny how the Q&A invite-to-answer system works. I got the sugar free one but not this. The answer here is much simpler: Yes. But melumar already told you that. ;)

I stand to be corrected but I don't think they do on their regular menu. I have very little doubt they'd make you one, though, as a special order. Either way, if you don't get a clear answer here (and even if you do), I'd... More

Eileen's Special Cheesecake opened for business in December, 1975, and arrived in lower Manhattan on December 4, 1976. It was a "ghost town" when I first arrived, but that didn't bother me because the rent was low and I desperately needed a place to bake for my growing wholesale business. I hadn't considered the retail aspects of the business until people started knocking on the door of the bakery wanting to buy cheesecake. With that encouragement, I purchased a bakery case and began to conduct retail business. Soon after our cheesecake attracted the press and we were listed in "Best Bites" in New York Magazine. Radio station WOR rated us "Number One Cheesecake" and we appeared on television quite often whipping up batters of cheesecake. Time passed, and now Cleveland Place is in a popular area where the mix of people and restaurants and shops are so unique. Downtown is becoming the "place to be", and we are actually on most maps now. We survived difficult times, and now "let the good times roll"!
