PDT is the not-so-secret speakeasy in the Village. Enter through the 'secret' entrance inside Crif Dogs, but get there early. Line queued up at 5:30 for the 6:00 opening time. Fun little place, friendly staff, and the only place I know where cocktails and hotdogs (almost) make sense. See for yourself. and the password is.....

Went here Friday night right at 6 pm and had the Shark drink and a Long Island Iced Tea both of which were good. It is a hideout place so not many know of it's location.

this is by far the best place iv been to in NYC the staff are all amazing. The lady behind the bar will make you cocktails which aren't on the menu and custom make them to your preferences. It's a real gem!

This place needs reservations! It was a three hour wait on a Sat night. Make a reservation have some dinner and come back when they call. It's right off a hot dog stand. You pick up a red phone in a booth and call. You enter through a secret door. It's a tiny hole in the wall. The bartenders are... More

It's a bit of a hassle getting a booking but all adds to the charm and well worth it once you're inside. You enter through the telephone kiosk in a hot dog restaurant! As everyone has to book in advance it never feels crowded. We sat at the bar and had a great view of everything. The staff were helpful... More

My daughter found this bar online prior to a trip to NYC. They only take day of reservations beginning at 3:00p. Within 1.5 hours all reservations were booked. We arrived at 9:00p and were put on a three hour waiting list for seating at the bar (only 13 seats). We ate dinner and luckily, they called us in about 2... More

Despite having to book very early in advance (not the kind of bar that you can just "drop in" for a drink as they are usually very busy) the whole experience of this particular speakeasy bar was great. The cocktails they offer are some of the best in New York that I have experienced, and would highly recommend this to... More

This place is so much fun. Make sure you do your research on how to get in, I've been to a few private parties here and they know how to host and have a good time.

I had to stop here because this place has been so important in starting the craft cocktail movement in the U.S. I arrived shortly after it opened for the evening, so I did not have to wait very long to get in - although I can see why bigger groups will have to wait a while, because it is tiny... Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
