After living in Busan, South Korea for two years, I've grown accustomed to the amazing food in this vibrant second city. Eating Korean food in the states since then has been rather disappointing, as would be expected. That all changed when we visited Kunjip (translated, Big House). Everything we ate was authentic and very delicious. I would highly recommend it... More

We want to try this type of bbq so we came to Korean town. After getting a great table by the window, we ordered the bbq beef combo for two which is $66 with a selection of sirloin, rib eye and some pork. This comes with a seafood tofu soup and the usual small dishes of Korean appetizers. There is... More

I am a reviewer on this site for many years, and I have never given such a review. There was a definite distinction given between the Asian customers and European customers. The cherry on top was when the waitress came to the table to tell me that my 15% tip was not enough and I had to put more of... More

THE WORST EVER ! Is there a way to give it zero stars? Fine evening with friends turned into a disaster. Bbq chicken was chunks of rubber not fine slivers of marinated chicken. I could go on about other hopeless preparations too but simply, JUST STAY AWAY! Absoltue lover of Korean food, first thing upon my return to Hong Kong... More

Visited New York City with the goal of making it to a Korean restaurant. After walking past several, I stumbled on Kunjip. Ate twice at Kunjip on a four day trip. Well worth it. Both their regular menu as well as their Korean barbecue were amazing. On a Tuesday night it was the busiest in the neighborhood, but still seating... More

Wide range of choice, food was delicious and the side dishes were all good. Staff are very professional and the prices are reasonable.A lot of the soup dishes contain noodles and comes with brown/red rice, so it's very filling.

My sister's friend invited us for dinner and she asked us, "what do you like to eat?" My daughter said that she loves ❤️ Korean culture, so she answered "korean food". So our friend said, "I will take you one of most delicious 😋 food that you ever taste. So she took us to Kunjip restaurant." And we were not... More

Dinner at 11 pm $31+tip Accepts all major credit cards ** (Casual) Weekend evenings are super busy. This place always feels a bit understaffed, however, they some how always manage to get to you in reasonanle time: bringing the banchan (korean complementary appetizers like kimchi and spicy radishes), filling water, taking and delivering orders. Restaurant is very high energy. Food... More

We went as a family of four. Although there was a line the owner seemed to pick us out and found us a table immediately. We were surprised that there was a language barrier with the staff -they don't speak much English- but they worked hard to try and explain everything to us. Although we still weren't entirely sure what... More

Extremely disappointed by this restaurant. It was noon and the place was packed, but you would assume a restaurant in NY would be used to this. Apparently not. I got my food quickly, but my companion didn't get food after a half hour wait. The same thing happened to the people next to us and several other diners were complaining... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
