Best meal we had in New York was here, terrific mixed starters with hummus and baba ghanoush. My main course was halibut on a kind of bean stew, the fish was really fresh and perfectly cooked and the stew complemented the fish and completed the dish. We shared a dessert and went a bit mad and ordered a Lebanese Bekka... More

Used to love this place and a fav when in NYC. Staff still super friendly and there is a great vibe but just felt we were "played" on ordering. Seems to me that the staff were pushing us to order certain dishes and they were not necessarily the best. The main courses are always over-prices and sub-par. My advice is... More

A very loud, busy place. Delicious food with a real twist. The tatziki was out of the world and brilliant with the bread. A nice big cocktail menu too. Well worth a visit.

We liked getting away a bit from the tourist crush, and enjoyed the meal, the ambiance and service. We were there early enough to order ala carte. The egg burek was a memorable treat, the appetizer trio offered perfectly prepared traditional dishes on the wonderful bread from the wood-fired oven, and the short ribs were beautiful as well. Wine selection... More

Our second visit to Taboon was better than our first! There were just the two of us the first visit and 6 the second so we got to order many more things and we'd like to go back with 12 next time! Everything is delicious but the appetizer crab shawarma and short rib entree are to die for. And that... More

There are lots of okay places but few where the food is uniformly delicious and even startling in its flavors and execution. The prices are hight - yep, some entrees are $38 and $40, but they are really worth it. The halibut is exceptional and a dessert called silan, with ice cream and shave halvah is to die for. Trust... We were going to the theater and wanted to find a really great restaurant and we were open for something different. I asked one of my colleagues who lives in Hell's Kitchen and she recommended, Taboon, a charming Greek and Mediterranean restaurant on 10th Avenue near 52nd Street. The restaurant feels like it's more of a neighborhood hangout than one... More

Taboon is a perfect pre-theatre restaurant . The food ... amazing! The wine ... terrific. The service ... wonderful! We loved the falafal, the hummus, the fish! And, the restaurant is a little further from the district, so it isn't quite as crowded/noisy.

Absolutely delicious! We started with the drink specials - vodka, blackberry puree and prosecco. Then we had the homemade foccacia with the tzaziki and the baba ganoush. We did not get a main dish but shared some of the small plates: special red snapper cevice, ravioli, octopus, brick egg and the beet salad. We split the chocolate mousse for dessert.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
