I don't need a buffet's with of food when I go to an upscale restaurant, but when the appetizer and the mains are essentially the same size, that makes me wonder. The steamed buns were good but for 10 bucks, just 2 buns is a...More

I enjoyed an early dinner here with a friend. We were seated at the bar as the small number of tables were all taken. I thought the steamed buns were amazing and the table of six behind us seemed to be loving the 'Bo Ssam'...The...More

Ippudo had a two and a half hour wait, so we tried Momofuku. We were seated right away by a courteous hostess. Our waiter was also very friendly. We ordered the ever popular steamed buns, roast duck, spicy sausage and scallops. While tasty, for $23...More

This is one of the most overrated places i've ever been in my life. After walking outside for years and the place full and crowded all the time, we could get inside at 2:00 pm, after the rush hour. We had so much expectations… And...More

Everything we ate was outstanding, highly refined and interesting. Staff more than happy to explain the menu and advise accordingly. Booking not possible but details taken and we waited no more than 20 mins in a neighbouring cocktail bar - no bad thing!

The Ssam Bar is a very modern place, not in Asian style, quite small and very lively. Unfortunately it's also very loud inside when you arrive during the main hours. The menu is quite special and without the explanation of the service we would have...More

Tasty food, well cooked, creative. A great environment and excellent service. We had a wonderful time. The price is reasonable considering the quality of its cuisine. One remark. If you want to have the pork (a specialty of this place) it must be for 8...More

I've been to many, many restaurants that have a whole lot of hype around them. Usually, my experiences have been that they don't meet the expectations set for them. Ssam Bar HAPPILY proved me wrong. The menu was interesting and exciting, without diverting into precious...More

In search for a place to have dinner in the East Viliage, my husband and I came upon Momofuku Ssam Bar. It was a Wednesday night and the place was packed, which indicated to us that it must be something special. How true! We had...More

East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village,
which offers plenty of unique small businesses
catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college

old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still
experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned
