We celebrated an anniversary with dinner at Perry Street and totally enjoyed every aspect of our meal. It started with a amuse Bouche of onion soup and then we shared a grilled octopus as an appetizer. The octopus was perfectly cooked and wonderfully spiced. The appetizer size is perfect to share too. We then had Halibut in broth and the... More

Have been wanting to try but a bit out of way. So glad we made it! A group of 6 --we had a very comfortable booth. It is spacious and you can hear each other so we loved atmosphere. Food awesome. Amazing artichoke app, octopus delucious. Mushroom app amazing, beef tenderloin and Brussels sprouts fabulous. Great service too--its a keeper

Host was kind and warm. Our drinks that we ordered at the bar took a very long t me. Most times the server came over it was at that moment when he had forgotten to take our order, bring out drinks, ask for dessert, etc. We appreciated that he acknowledged the digression in service. Ownership goes a long way in... More

I meet with clients at this restaurant and it never disappoints. The food is terrific and there's a nice vibe in the place - not too stuffy, not too loud. If you're in this part of town, you'll love it.

I had a reservation for 4 at 6:45 pm on Friday. This restaurant is in far West Village, next to West Street, It is in relatively secluded part. We were seated right away on arrival. This restaurant is quite modern looking and nicely appointed. I ordered a ginger margarita ($16) and my wife ordered a glass of red wine ($18).... More

We went there with our son and daughter in law to celebrate meeting up in New York. Apart from the food being rather excellent, the ambience was amazing. Great attention by the staff at all times and it was nice to be able to chat to each other without a lot of backroom noise. Not cheap but nice all the... More

We went there for Christmas dinner. The food was absolutely phenomenal, the service second-to-none. Some of the diners were quite pretentious, which we didn't particularly care about, but worth pointing it out as it somewhat defines the atmosphere - and I'd say you would want to know that when choosing your outfit!

Seeking to impress? Well this is definitely the place, but a bit pricey. Best to be seated far away from the entrance as wintry blast is telling. Presentation and tastes are unforgettable. Decor: minimalist but chic.

The restaurant is an European/Asian fusion restaurant. Most of the dishes are European dishes with an Asian influence/twist which is not strange since the Chef was born in Asia. Besides the great food the bar has a choice of great cocktails and the desserts are always surpisingly good. The interior desgin is very minimalist understated which is refreshing.

If you drop in to a restaurant and see, on the wine list, a five hundred dollars plus per bottle of wine you might expect white and starchy table clothes on the tables. Not here. The place has a friendly staff, some good choices of appetizers ( i.e. grilled octopus, wild mushrooms) and main courses ( the duck) but that... More

Description
Perry St has reopened! Chef Jean-Georges brings relaxed elegance to the West Village with Perry St, which opened in 2005 and has been awarded three stars by the New York Times. Located in the spectacular Richard Meier Towers, the restaurant offers beautiful waterfront views of the Hudson River. The stunning dining room was designed by Thomas Juul-Hansen, whose Danish background lends a mid-century modern design sensibility. Jean-Georges' son, Cedric Vongerichten, helms the kitchen, creating dishes that reflect his own keen instinct for balancing flavor and texture with an exquisite blend of French, American, and Asian influences and ingredients. The menu is inspired by the season, centering on the local market at Union Square. The perfect restaurant for special events and group dining.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
