5.0 star rating 1/15/2017 wow... simply wow. Am a gelato and frozen dessert connoisseur, but this was at another level. Their marscapone gelato may be one of the best desserts i've ever had. Some friends also raved about their almond and chocolate flavors. My wife is eager to go back to try their Pluot and Calamansi flavors. Even their containers... More

This place is adjacent to Katz's (a wonderful NYC deli) & has very delicious gelato & coffee. The staff is very friendly & will let you try as many flavors as you like until you find your faves. It is reasonably priced, adequate seating area, and the blue & white decor reminds me of Santorini. Bon apetit!

This place is simply amazing. Feels like a Gelateria for the 50s, more like a lab , less like a fancy Gelato place.

Two years ago I had the greatest sorbet ever. It was grapefruit and it was in Prague. Since then, I've been trying Gelatos and sorbets in different cities. I was looking for the same perfect grapefruit sorbet... But I was out of luck... But it was before I went to NY and visit this miracle place! The grapefruit Campari sorbet... More

I was walking by in the evening and wanted to what offered in the lab. I was not disappointed. There were so many different flavors. It was hard. A little goes a long way with flavors. Very rich!! Very good!!

Most people hear those "foreign languages" and feel that these people know more about living and gastronomy. Well in the case of Italian cooking that's probably not so. The issue is of course the power of suggestion. Italian food is of course very suggestive if nothing else. Gelati are the same. In reality Italian gelati are what Americans know as... More

Even if you did not save room after eating at Katz' Deli, just have a little gelato. It is worth getting even more filled and having a few hundred additional calories. The flavors are delicious.

This was my first time having gelato, and I decided to be adventurous and get flavors that seemed a bit unusual to me. I ended up with juniper for one flavor, and tarragon/pink peppercorn for the other. The juniper was wonderful; I tried it because I love gin (made from juniper), and was not disappointed in the least. Tarragon/pink pepper... More

Good gelato here, though expensive and suffers from the American propensity to over-sweetness, but it's one of the best I've sampled anywhere in the USA. I'm not sure that I'd say it was good enough to wait in the long queues that form at peak house, but then that probably says more about my aversion to queues than about the... More

They have tons of flavors here! The highlights were - black sesame, amaretto hazelnut, dark chocolate mint and mint chip. It's a bit on the pricy side +$4 for a small.

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
