Visited NYC in September. Afternoon tea was a disaster. Not only was the quality very poor, the billing (and particularly the gratuity) left a bad taste in the mouth. Had far better experiences in London and considerably cheaper.

Booked prior to leaving Australia. 4 of us ladies excited to do “ high tea”. I have had many experiences of high tea in other establishments in other cities. This high tea set menu is far from good. $90 to include one glass of champagne,...More

I love high tea. The best was still the one at the Ritz in London many years ago. This was not like that in the least. It was a rushed, poorly executed disaster. We were served a set of scones, sandwiches, and bite sized desserts...More

The Plaza is known for Eloise so I had to take my (grown up) daughters to the Palm Court for tea. Very elegant, very expensive. Pretty ordinary for afternoon tea in terms of the quality of the food but a lovely experience if one doesn't...More

So today we went to high tea at the Plaza, our expectations were fairly high, I guess to be expected at $200us for two people not including tips! Being a coeliac and having travel internationally plenty of times to some of the most well known...More

Went here for a treat afternoon tea. Had the regular one and a champagne one. Fine selection of savories and cakes. Service functional, but the room could do with a refresh and the lighting is very unflattering!

We were a little worried about choosing the Plaza for our afternoon tea given that it is a favorite of tourists but we LOVED it! My mother had the New Yorker and I had the Champagne tea with a glass of champagne and caviar. Lovely....More

Had wanted to experience afternoon tea here for a while and felt a joint celebration of birthday and an anniversary would be perfect. We had had afternoon tea at claridges in the U.K a few months before and wanted to compare. There is no comparison!...More

Geoffrey Zakarian has re-launched the iconic Palm Court at The PLAZA HOTEL with a complete renovation helmed by Master Architect Thierry Despont. Zakarian showcases classic American menus from morning to evening, and while staying true to its original design intent, Despont has brought the grand feeling of Central Park indoors, with garden elements such as caning, large potted plants, four soaring palm trees and an oval trellised bar anchoring the room, creating an ambience that feels warm, private and glamorous. Bespoke furnishings provide a relaxed, yet elegant setting well-suited for either a professional breakfast meeting or an evening of cocktails crafted by mixologist Brian Van Flandern. Afternoon Tea truly shines as well with custom tableware and china, a tea list with worldly depth, and of course, a bit of Eloise too. This elegant room marked with its stained glass dome and impressive height adds a touch of old New York to a very polished and modern sense of hospitality
