It was one of the highlights of my life- Having tea with my daughter at The Plaza- They brought her a pink napkin, pink lemonade, pink Eloise tea set and of course a spread of scones, sandwiches and cotton candy! I had champagne and my own delicious food as well. I was in heaven just watching my daughter- it is... More

Elegance, class and luxury ... everything you'd expect from the Plaza. The Palm Court is a peek into how the upper class travels. Everyone from F. Scott Fitzgerald to the Beatles have stayed here, and the beautiful Palm Court is an excellent location to people watch while sipping a cocktail.

I ate breakfast here with my husband and 8 year old last week... pancakes, bacon, French toast, etc. Everything tasted good, service was great, restaurant was immaculate just as you would expect being at the plaza... however, it is very expensive. I think it was $126 before tip for the 3 of us. I have had equally as good breakfasts... More

I kind of begged my son to have tea here on a recent visit (he is 12), and he agreed, He has celiac and they had a gluten free tea option. So awesome! The room is gorgeous and the tea was wonderful with outstanding service. And. most importantly, my son really enjoyed it. So much food too. We could not... More

The Palm Court has been serving High Tea for 60 years, and I had to try it when visiting New York. The Palm Court is stunning, with a domed glass ceiling that reflects in the mirrored table-top. High tea was equally great, with a variety of finger sandwiches, warm scones with clotted cream and lemon curd and/or preserves, plus exquisite... More

Like a restaurant with an amazing view - be prepared to pay for the experience. At $95 each this this "High Tea" also comes with a "High Price", however with that out of the way, this was a great way to finish off my wife's birthday in New York and will be unforgettable. If you have a special occasion for... More

My daughter took me & my wife here for breakfast. Beautiful old hotel with lots of character. The staff were wonderful. They knew it was my 60th birthday & made the meal very special. Even provided a cake of pancakes with cream. Excellent.

I made a reservation using Open Table about a week before we went and then when I checked online the day before, saw that the price of tea had been raised substantially for the holidays. Boo. So we decided to stick with it as a once in a lifetime treat. The setting is lovely, the service is fine, but the... More

Unfortunately, they only serve regular food - bar food - prior to 5 and we wanted something healthier and more substantial before going to the theatre. We ended up leaving despite always wanting to dine here. Hopefully another time. The staff needs to be a little more guest focused both being nice and smiling at the hostess stand and the... More

We decided to splash out on our last day in Manhattan and have breakfast at the Famous Plaza home to Eloise and many famous people. The room itself is breathtaking the service is fabulous and you really feel like youve made it. Next to us was a table of 6 year olds having a birthday breakfast with the Eloise china... More

Description
Geoffrey Zakarian has re-launched the iconic Palm Court at The PLAZA HOTEL with a complete renovation helmed by Master Architect Thierry Despont. Zakarian showcases classic American menus from morning to evening, and while staying true to its original design intent, Despont has brought the grand feeling of Central Park indoors, with garden elements such as caning, large potted plants, four soaring palm trees and an oval trellised bar anchoring the room, creating an ambience that feels warm, private and glamorous. Bespoke furnishings provide a relaxed, yet elegant setting well-suited for either a professional breakfast meeting or an evening of cocktails crafted by mixologist Brian Van Flandern. Afternoon Tea truly shines as well with custom tableware and china, a tea list with worldly depth, and of course, a bit of Eloise too. This elegant room marked with its stained glass dome and impressive height adds a touch of old New York to a very polished and modern sense of hospitality

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
