I had heard very very good things about Yakitori Totto and was wondering if it could live up to the hype, the answer was yes it definitely could. We arrived there about 20 mins after it had opened for dinner to be told we only have seats at the bar available (it gets busy fast so booking a table might... More

Went with my daughter for a light and fresh dinner. Dining area is small and crowded which lends to the friendly atmosphere. Small single skewers of grilled vegetables, seafood, and meat are tasty and fresh. Fun to watch the guys grilling at the bar! Bacon wrapped asparagus were our favorites!

My family and I have been patrons of this restaurant for over 13 years, and have never been so affronted and offended by the staff at this restaurant. Never in all my experiences here, good and bad, have I been treated in this utterly disgusting manner. I am so truly disappointed. I understand that this is a popular restaurant, averaging... More

Japanese yakitori is always delicious and consistent. What I liked about this spot is that, even though it is the same style of food as many other yakitori locations, the quality of the food here is top notch. Can't go wrong with the Wagyu beef or lamp chop! Eel don was also delicious and omg they have a DIY grapefruit... More

This is not a place for chicken skewer. However, they do have a few highlights: (1) Agedashi Tofu: i.e. codl soy sauce tofu (2) Tsukune: meatball (3) Skirt steak: the best that I have had (4) eel Don't order the following ones (1) any thing about chicken (2) anything about exotic items such as beef tongue (3) don't order pork... We were not disappointed! Stick to chicken skewers here and you will be pleased. All the skewers had a nice char and good seasoning. Favorites include chicken skin, neck, and cartilage. If you want something more filling, try the ochazuke- a rice dish with hot tea.

Very good. Their main downfall is they are too busy. I felt a little rushed and did not enjoy that all the people waiting in line were watching me eat. Yakitori was very good despite electric grill. Karaage had bone - where are we, Kushiro??

This is a fabulous place. The food is delicious, you sit at the counter and watch how they prepare new delicacies, you can then decide what may be worth to try. The atmosphere is very authentic, most of the patrons are Japanese, and all staff members are from Japan anyhow. Make sure you have a reservation (although it would be... More

My friend Scott, who lives in NYC, had been pondering over the ideal lunch spot for 2 days. When he mentioned Yakitori I immediately knew this was the place to go, and they did not disappoint! We got a table right away and what a treat. We had 7 different skewers each and each one of them was top notch!... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
