The cavernous bar, down the dark skinny steps has a fun, dark atmosphere. Our waitress was so friendly as were the rest of the staff. The drinks and food are a bit steep for what you get, but the list of house infused vodkas is interesting and worth the try. Don't go for the wine list even though they call... More

Our waiter at Balthazar (just around the corner from Pravda) suggested we head here for a post dinner cocktail. We loved it and would def recommend! Underground lux bar with a nice 30 something crowd - cool but not pretentious.

I somehow left my wallet there but was thrilled to find out some kind honest so had quite a bit of money in it. Elsa, & Vera & team were a fantastic help. Hopefully I will... More

Amazing atmosphere and you wouldn't think that this cavernous bar would be found in the basement of the building. If you are staying in Chinatown or Soho, Pravda is within walking distance. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Soho and Pravda is literally a ten minute walk from the hotel. Great for us, if we decided to stay for an... More

I am a big fan of this place. Ambiance is pretty unique, like an old Russian metro station. Great selection of vodka – try the vodka sampler served in a block of ice, and don't be afraid to ask them to substitute out for something you don't like (I believe potato vodka is the work of the devil, they are... Beautiful Vodka lounge bar! While you drink your vodka, you may so tempted to try to speak Russian ! Ya gavaryu pa-Russkii! ! Ya lyublu Vodku ! Ya Obuzhayu Vodku ! And you have to drink vodka in traditional way, NEAT that is, if you can ! I strongly recommend PRAVDA’S ICED RACK OF SIX VODKAS and "Peter's Pizza" !... More

Great underground bar with a good atmosphere and plenty of vodka choices. It was a great choice for a co-worker's going away party Try the vodka selections! I tried several and they were all better than the next. Service at the bar was great and the food was really good and came out quickly. The parmesan fries and flat bread... More

Well, the lightning was very red and some signs maybe actually has been on a govenrment building in Moscow, but after that the "Cool mother Russia"-ends. The food was not very East Europe and the staff seemed to be just of the bus from any small town, "coming to NYC to make a career, starting at the bottom". Go here,... More

Staying in Nolita

Neighbourhood Profile
Despite being just off of busy Houston Street, Nolita maintains a low-key vibe that makes it a pleasant retreat in the heart of lower Manhattan. Short for “North of Little Italy,” Nolita was once considered to be part of Little Italy. Today, the neighbourhood is popular with young fashionistas popping in and out of the chic independent boutiques that line Mulberry, Mott and Elizabeth Streets. In addition to shopping, there are cozy restaurants and sidewalk cafes serving everything from new-school Italian food to the world-famous cronuts. While small in size (Nolita stretches just a few blocks in each direction), it’s a great neighbourhood to spend an afternoon people watching, window-shopping, and grabbing a bite to eat.
