I love the matzo ball soup here and several of the other Jewish specialties. Service is good, not great but we go for the food. Family friendly but no outside food allowed (including baby food). they do provide free kosher baby food.

A group of 6 of us ate here last Saturday for lunch. I didn't expect much as mostly tourists eat here so restaurant doesn't rely on repeat customers. Very disappointing. Corned beef didn't have much taste. Took 20 min to get our food and one persons sandwich came out 15 min after the rest of us were served! Management wasn't... More

This was our 2nd year eating dinner at Ben's after arriving in NYC before going to a Broadway show. Eating here is an experience. The waiter was very helpful and very understanding. The sandwiches are huge. A few of us had the soup and half sandwich. You get a bowl of soup and a manageable sandwich, but all was DELICIOUS.... More

We saw the sign off 7th Avenue by chance tonight and decided to give it a try. Sooo happy we did. Delicious food, very sweet waiter, good value. Our waiter actually stopped us ordering more and said it was really enough - he was completely right. We almost ate everything we ordered and any more would have been wasted. It... More

We eat at Ben's on Long Island often and are glad we finally visited the midtown one. Son always loved the open faced Turkey and I can never resist the pastrami. The matzo ball soup is to die for!

Three seniors for dinner after a show. Two had extra lean pastrami sandwiches ($13.99 each) one had the oversized stuffed cabbage appetizer (huge)@$10.49. One round and one square knish. ($3.99 each). Pickles and cole slaw to start. You get good tasting food at a reasonable price. Service by Sam was excellent. These are not overstuffed $20 sandwiches like Katz's, but... More

Second visit, just as marvellous as the first. Excellent chicken soup. Highly recommended for a serious deli meal in NYC.

I visited the restaurant the last week. Really spacious place and quiet, that is difficult to find in NY for a kosher restaurant... but i think is the only thing i can say good about it. The service was so bad... i asked about what is included in the tuna salad and the waiter replied me impatiently. Finally we decided... More

To some, delicatessen is something you put between two slices of bread. To me, it's a calling. I am committed to preserving the traditional cuisine of my Eastern European heritage, amidst all that's required to operate a modern restaurant. This is our pledge, from the Ben's family to you: Fresh food, freshly prepared and courteously served in a clean, well-maintained restaurant faithfully observing the Kosher dietary laws. I urge you to bring anything less to my personal attention by calling 1-888-344-BENS or filling out my "Ask Ronnie" form and submitting it with your questions or comments. Your complete satisfaction is our goal. Any concerns will receive my prompt attention. - Ronnie Dragoon - Owner.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
