A small restaurant with a few tables and chairs. They make the most magnificent pastrami sandwiches. We had l small amount of time, so we got ours to go and thoroughly enjoyed them.

We read about this place in a travel guide and made an effort to go there (on a day when we were exploring the upper east side). Small place, with only a few tables, but we were lucky and were seated immediately. We had a pastrami sandwich and a salt beef sandwich (both HUGE!) and both were exceptionally good. Nice... More

Was looking for a Kosher Pastrami place to meet another couple for weekend lunch and found Pastrami Queen online. It turned out to be a very small deli / diner with only a few seats, most people taking away food. Having said that, the hot pastrami sandwich was really outstanding and so was the potato pancakes... The place was 100%... More

The out of date website led me to believe this was a restaurant, but it's more a shopfront with a handful of tables. Nonetheless, it's worth a stop for good food, _massive_ portions and friendly service. A real deli experience.

Many are gone now. Go for food not ambiance. It is very small with limited seating but it is Zagat rated and tasty.

I was on a hunt for a good pastrami sandwich on the UES and found Pastrami Queen. Pretty much a hole in the wall but the pastrami was hot, moist and very good. There are not many tables so seating at lunch hour could be a problem.

Please go here! The BEST pastrami I have ever tasted on the largest sandwich I have ever had. They don't even add mustard to the sandwich - it isn't needed! They have a very large menu, but the pastrami is what we came for and we were absolutely extremely pleased. Friendly staff, small tables. We loved everything about it.

There are a lot of other items on the menu but I came in for one thing: pastrami! And was not disappointed. No gristle, minimal fat parts, ample quantity, spiced but not overdone, flavorful and not crumbly. A handsome sandwich and well worthy of return engagements while in the neighborhood! One caution is that the seating is exceptionally limited and... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
