This place doesn't sell by the slice so if you go by yourself, be prepared to order a smaller pie and have leftovers. That being said, it is the best pizza I've had in three trips to NYC. Service was a bit spotty but the...More

We have been eating at John's for years. It is a must whenever we are in the city. Excellent service too.

We were looking for New York Pizza. We were referred to John's on Bleecker Street by our Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island tour guide and were not disapointed. From our visit onwards, our definition of New York Pizza is John's and its impressive decor. John's at...More

We visited this restaurant at 4 in the afternoon and were lucky to find a table. It is a place with character and feel. The pizza comes on a medium thin crust and plenty of cheese. It’s a very decent pizza going on a search...More

Nice cozy pizza parlor. Pizza was very good. Service was excellent. We were there around 6pm. Busy spot but really, we did not wait long. Would return anytime.

Sometimes you just want something familiar, something without surprises, without pretence, without drama. Such was the case Sunday night when we were craving pizza. Our sausage and pepperoni pie fit the bill perfectly. Add a house salad and a carafe of wine, bene, molto bene!

We visited on holiday, and the pizza was very nice. But I can’t get over the fact that they charged us £42 for two pizzas - New York prices gone crazy.

Quite simply you just NEED to go to John's. The best pizza anywhere in NYC. There probably will be a line during lunchtime, but just wait, it goes fast. Great people. Epic pies. You won't be disappointed.

Looking for fine dining? Then don't go to a pizza place! Looking for tasty pizza and a good beer (a novelty in New York), don't mind waiting for a table and like a boho feel? Then go to John's... Been going for 20 years (and...More

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you

John's of Bleecker Street is a historic pizzeria founded in 1929 by Italian immigrant John Sasso. It serves quintessentially New York coal-fired pizza, famous for its perfect brick-oven baked crust and zesty tomato sauce. John's is still family owned and operated, and boasts such celebrities as Conan O'Brien, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Danny DeVito. In 2016, it was voted #2 in America in the nationwide poll conducted by MSN.
