We came in late one night and ordered a few sides and drinks. The drinks were meh. The food (lobster mac 'n cheese and chicken salad) were amazing and ample for a late dinner.

My wife and I dined at this restaurant a few years back. We had steak, which was delicious. This is a nice, refined eating place. Top of the line. It has been here for a very long time. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you're looking for a nice place to eat.

Found the place by accident on our first night in New York (even though we found out later it was actually part of the hotel we were staying in - the Waldorf Astoria). Although it seems pricey, it's probably what you'd expect to pay for a good meal out in the city. The steaks we ordered were excellent, and overall... More

Sorry to see this terrific steakhouse go the way of so many fine institutions in New York City. The Waldorf Astoria hotel, in which it was situated, has been sold and closed as well. I ate dinner here for the last time a couple days before it closed. My waiter had worked here for 35 years. I will really miss... More

After trying to plan the perfect trip for my family, it was capped off by the best waiter I've ever been served by. His name was Ziggy! He witnessed my daughter being a little "crabby" and instantly changed her entire mood. He got her pancakes that weren't on the menu and even made her smile with a teddy bear at... More

Had drinks & dinner at this piece of history over the last weekend. Beef was very good and service impeccable. Sad to see a piece of history disappear.

Was staying at the Waldorf Astoria before it closed and ate here the first evening. Had to have a Waldorf Salad which didn't disappoint and was much different than any I had had before. Also had the red velvet cake which originated at the Waldorf. Is very sad its closing - really enjoyed it.

We stayed a few nights at the Waldorf and dined at the Bull & Bear. The NY sirloin and filet mignon were outstanding and cooked perfectly. The service was very prompt, courteous and friendly. The prices are quite high, but the meal was worth it for a nice dinner for two. The noise did get a bit loud about 9pm... More

These people have already checked out. Let me start with the drinks: the Moscow Mule, which is raging in popularity among the younger set, was purportedly invented here, yet the waiter hadn't heard of it. He returned with a mint julep, sans mint, for $19. My guest asked for a pinot noir and was given a Malbec. It took 14... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
