My wife loves oysters so we decided to give the Grand Central Oyster Bar a shot. They certainly have a great selection of seafood including the largest lobsters I have ever seen. The setting though is far from comfortable. The enormous main dining room is loud and crowded. I walked into the smaller "saloon" which looks much more comfortable. I... More

Sat at the counter & chose the She Crab Soup. Delicious, with a similar consistency to NE Clam Chowder! Good service + clean & reasonably priced. ---JMcH---

Had our meal here the day we arrived. Ate early at 5pm, so not too busy. Very fast service. We were in and out in about an hour! Lovely food, friendly staff, amazing location and not too pricey!

This place is like an institution. A must when visiting New York City. Their New England Clam Chowder warms you up on a cold day and is super tasty. Fantastic meal and big serving with bread for only $6.95. Friendly service and recently been renovated.

Great food, fun ambience, and really good service. The staff is very efficient, quick (even though we didn't have a train to catch!) and friendly with kids. The food is excellent, obviously superb fish, and also good desserts. Worth the trip!

We had lunch at the Oyster Bar in Grand Central Station with a family of 7 and relaxed while watching people running around. The place was hectic and were asked whether we were going to request oyster, since they ran out of oysters (ha,ha,ha). We enjoyed some nice soups and the service was friendly

A great experience in a NY institution. Service was excellent in the this large and busy restaurant. Lobster was fantastic but the steak one of us ordered was over cooked quite a bit. When we mentioned it the staff acknowledged it immediately no argument and offered to replace - also removed it from the bill. A great experience, but $400... More

It is one of the oldest restaurants in the city to which I return for the quality of its food and for the beautiful memories that I keep. Lovely, noisy, fast and traditional. For a quick lunch, business lunch and even a romantic dinner. Eating at the marble communal table with that giant menu, is a challenge, the fish very... More

It's always great to have you in for a bite, and I'm honored that you consider our place your second home. That means a lot to us, and it's fantastic to know that you've been consistently pleased with everything from the service and ambiance to the food -- of course, we're always proud of our oysters as well. That said,... More

We had lunch at the Grand Central Oyster Bar... they first tried squeezing us in a corner elbow to elbow with another table... we ask to move and we'll... that seemed to be an ordeal... we ordered clam chowder and squid. Soup was great but the squid was not. It was oily and tasteless. The architecture is spectacular and we... More

Description
Grand Central Oyster Bar is the ultimate experience for any seafood. Lover. From the market to your plate, we've spent nearly a hundred years perfecting our seafood dishes. Every morning, the chef goes to the New Fulton Fish Market to personally pick the day's freshest seafood. Everything from lobster to different kinds of fish is hand-picked for the best flavor and freshness. We're most famous for our oysters though, with over 30 different varieties on any given day. Have your dishes prepared minimally, or choose to have your meal in the form of a po' boy. Whatever floats your boat. To go with your Oysters, our extensive wine list has over 400 wines by the glass or bottle, 55 of which are priced under $38. We love sharing our great seafood, so we like to keep everything, including our prices, accessible. Come in for our Happy Hours (menu on website), where you and your friends can pick up some fresh food and drinks at prices so good it's fishy! Across our restaurant we have more than 450 tables across two dining rooms. Traditional experiences are supplemented by our saloon, which features a large bar. Instead, you could choose to sit at Oyster Bay, where you can watch your Oysters being shucked. The Grand Central Oyster Bar has always been a social experience, bustling with buzz, activity and a rich history. There is truly nowhere else like it!

Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown.
