This place had a fantastic vibe, although we had to wait for an hour for a table, we happily got drinks at the bar. The food was very nice, although I could not believe the size of the portions. Listen to the wait staff when they advise you about over-ordering!

One of the most popular Italian restaurants in New York City. It's a family style restaurant. The portion is big, the food is good & the price is right. It's located in the heart of the city. Needs reservation way ahead of time although at times you can walk in before 3 pm & get a table.

We had dinner at Carmines recently, not our first or second time. The reason for going back is the quality of the pasta and the sauces. The place is huge and it would seem to the "untrained eye" not organized. YOu shout your order to the waiter and wait with the hope that the right meal will get back to... More

great experience, Ben was our waiter, his advice was exactly what we needed to enjoy our experience. The plate portions are HUGE, we were 5 adults, we decided on Chicken Marsala, we were told to order one plate for the 5 of us but to add a side of pasta, we really had enough for 5 adults and it was... Several years ago, when Carmines was a much newer restaurant... the wait was long, but the food was good. After a Broadway show, my husband and I didn't have dinner and wanted something good but, we didn't want to have to go far to get it. So, we saw Carmines and decided to try it again. We ordered the calamari... More

Description
Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. The Carmine's concept is to bring its guests a "wow-factor" sized portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of homestyle antipasto, pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing amongst friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
