The restaurant was packed when we got there at 5:15 PM. There were only two of us and we did not want to wait for a table for over an hour so we settled in the bar. The drinks were good but the veal we had tasted like card board!! Very disappointing! One can find much better food for much... More

Even in prime time christmas season around 830 we were seated within 5 minutes. Waitress explained the family style serving, and kept our glasses filled (which was a job due to the small water glasses. ) chicken parm was the best I ever had, just wish they had sizes for just 2 instead of 4...since we were visiting, we couldn't... Both friends and family had recommended Carmine's so we arrived expecting great things. We soon discovered that our expectations were far too high and that other 'family Italian' restaurants were much better both for value, quality of food and service - see Tony's Italian on 42nd for example! On arrival at approximately 7:30 on a Wednesday evening (no booking) we... More

Carmines is our goto restaurant when we visit Manhattan. You definitely need reservations. When is just the 2 of us we eat at the bar. The bartenders are awesome. The stuffed artichoke is just awesome. The hot antipasto is a meal in its self. You must go!

Great family dinner. It was family style and very good. Family of 5 (all adults), split Caesars salad,Spaghetti and meatball and a dish of Chicken Parm. We made reservations early in the day, for a 8:00 dinner. When we arrived the place was packed and diners were waiting for seats. We got right in (I was actually surprised for a... More

We have been here before and loved it each time. I went with 5 girlfriends after the Radio City Music Hall Christmas show and the food was excellent. We got the mixed salad and 3 entrees to share: chicken parmigiana, chicken saltimbocca and penne alla vodka. We had leftovers of the chicken parm and the penne pasta which 2 of... More

Was recommended here by a friend and it was well worth it. Family style dishes with more food than any group of 4 could want. Service was superior and our drinks never went dry. Highly recommend to anyone in the Time Square area.

Go hungry! We were a group of 9 and everyone thought this place was great. Our waiter wasn't very enthusiastic but we didn't let that spoil our experience. The food was all very tasty and plentiful! We ordered a few different dishes and each was enough for everyone to have a portion. This place doesn't stop so be sure to... More

Description
Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. The Carmine's concept is to bring its guests a "wow-factor" sized portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of homestyle antipasto, pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing amongst friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
