Very close to the soho grand hotel where we were staying. Nice quaint comfortable decor. I had the apple egg white omelet which was excellent. Generous size. The egg white was fluffy, moist and tasty. Apples were fresh and large( green). Service was good, but could have been quicker.

2 Couples went to see (and hear) the music by singer/songwriter Daniel Reese and got there early. We were pleased to find happy hour in progress.Drinks were high quality and a bargain. We also had hummus and artichoke pockets: very good. We were a little indecisive, which bothered the waitress a little. Music was very fine. We would come back... More

If you are looking for a place to have breakfast and then head out shopping in Soho this is the place. Food is fresh and well prepared. Coffee is very nice. Service is efficient with a great soho feel. If it is winter sit near the fire place. It gets a little cold as the building is old.

Came back for brunch again and the food was once again excellent. Smoked salmon was mouth watering and the egg benedict was just outstanding. Love to come back again.

the place to go before shopping in SoHo! I have been there for breakfast during my trip to NY city, the morning we decided to have and walk (and shopping of course!) in SoHo. The waiters are very nice and also helped us find what we were looking for in the menu (there are many options in the menu, and... More

We had difficult time locating the restaurant on the bus. We were plesantly surprised when we arrived. We were there for breakfast. We chose Egg Bennett traditional style. It was very delicious. Our breakfast arrived quickly from the kitchen. We would love to go back and try other items on the menu. This is a small quaint restaurant. We would... More

Description
The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists.

The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting.

The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
