Met friends here for a nice brunch on Sunday. Food was good, prices were reasonable. Nothing outstanding. French toast was above average, but the sausage and bacon were very ordinary

Arrived at 12, and we had food at 1pm. There were a few guests ahead and large group tables. Our waitress was very attentive and immediately apologised for the delay. We were offered free drinks for waiting and complementary waffles. Overall good was average, but...More

Decided to try this restaurant based on the TripAdvisor reviews and also it was fairly close to our hotel in SoHo. We were glad we went. We happened upon the Happy Hour and decided to try several things. The French Martini was great, as were...More

I was highly recommended this place by friends before coming to New York. I have to say I was disappointed. The menu is quite basic and my eggs were completely over cooked. I won't be back.

I love the Cupping Room and have been going there on my visits from the UK for almost 30 years. The menu is large with lots of choice and salads a good option. This time, however, I had a sandwich, mozzarella and aubergine which was...More

Description
The Cupping Room Cafe was established in 1977. It was originally a wholesale coffee establishment. Different blends of coffee were brewed and tasted by perspective customers. This act of blending and tasting different coffees is called cupping - hence the name The Cupping Room. The coffee tasting went so well that the owners decided to change the name from The Coffee Connection to The Cupping Room Cafe. They also decided to open the back of the store and sell coffee and pie to the local artists. The building hosting The Cupping Room is a landmark building. It was the first "tall" building in SoHo and is more than 100 years old. The high tin ceilings, hard wood floors, pot-belly stove and exposed brick walls are all part of the original setting. The Cupping Room was a home for artists and locals. Today it is still a neighborhood place where you can see the locals and the famous come together in our homey environment.
