Well established spot. Food is as fresh and excellently prepared by chef Andrea as the the service is personal and attentive. Great place in the West Village where competition is endless and "so-so places" have an expiration date of about 3 months.

Just got home after an appalling experience at this restaurant. We arrived just after happy hour and were informed that the $25 bottle of merlot was now $44. As there are so many restaurants in that area looking for business, we asked if the $25...More

Terrible food, I had pizza which was burnt on the edges and raw in the middle, the toppings were tasteless, my wife had a frittata that was burnt and rubbery with salad that had no dressing just some parmesan cheese, the only saving grace was...More

Mostly found in the West Village but far enough over towards the Hudson to feel like Battery Park, Lievito occupies a space which essentially doubles with the front windows open to the street. Inside the compact establishment, a very good but somewhat limited menu is...More

Everything about this place is perfect. The food, the staff, the view, the location. The staff is authentic Italian peeps. Not only are they from Italy, but they ARE Italy: unencumbered, kind, willing to really listen to your needs, recommend good plates, follow up regularly...More

I orded the gnocchi, and it was good. The best thing about this restaurant is the pizza. I tasted my friend's pizza and it was great. It was really full the day I went so we had to wait a little. But the staff was...More

I have been to Lievito about five or six times. It is that perfect neighborhood restaurant: reasonably priced, laid-back enough that you can go there without dressing up, but with a lively and elegant atmosphere that makes out-of-town guests feel as if they're "going out."...More

West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the
West Village is one of the city’s most coveted
addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and
cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture,
this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You
won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan.
Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to
get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you
