Had this before NEWSical across the street and everything was perfect. Great wait staff, the food was reasonably priced and delicious, and the wine our server suggested was perfect. Loved the risotto balls!

Heading to the a show at 9th and 42nd I didn't expect anything the quick and good. A friendly welcome, attentive barman combined with tasty food at a reasonable price. I will return.

Came here for a birthday dinner for family member. We had about 10-12 people, and they seated us - very nicely - at the large, semi-private space at the end of the bar. This is a perfect place for a medium size group like we were, because there's some privacy, but you're not stuffed into some small room by yourselves... More

We ate here on our third night in New York. Friends had recommended it and it was a great break from the usual chips with everything menu. We had the linguine, duck risotto and vegetarian risotto and every last bit of food was wolfed down. Delicious! And the classic hot fudge Sundae is to die for! Service was polite and... More

We had a reservation at 6 p.m. with another couple, but they had no tables. Under normal circumstances, we might be able to put up with a 15-20 minute delay (though not happily). But this was unacceptable because we had theatre tickets. Maitre 'd didn't care. So we had to leave.

Excellent meal and service was better. Attentive, great recommendations, food arrived timely and perfectly cooked. We had the Salmon, duck risotto and bolognese- everyone cleaned their plates. Don't miss the hot fudge sundae or chocolate bread pudding. We will definitely return!!!!

This restaurant is very conveniently located near Theater Row on 42nd Street near 9th Ave. It used to have some very interesting and well prepared foods for dinner. This time, I was hard pressed to select an entree. Instead, I ordered 2 two appetizers; the Spare Ribs with Balsamic Glaze and Aleppo Peppers and a BLT salad with Heirloom Tomatoes... More

This café caters to pre-theater crowds - so the adverts claim - but I think the local residents are discovered it as well. We had drinks and entrees - service was prompt, place was nice and clean (including tablecloths, etc.), and prices were reasonable. I had a wonderful lemon and asparagus risotto and my friend had a pasta dish with... More

Owner Steve Olsen has had this restaurant for many years, and no wonder. It has EXCELLENT food, and great ambience. Downstairs he has a good room to rent for parties. All in all, TOPS.

42nd Street on a summer Saturday night is "hopping"! We went to see "Cagney" which was one block away from West Bank Cafe, and since we had dined there previously, we didn't shop around for a restaurant. This time we were disappointed. While the service was good, the meal was mediocre. My wife and friend had a pasta bolognese dish... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
