We were lucky enough to get a table perched on a small balcony overlooking the happy diners below. With no idea of what to expect--I am always suspect of NYC restaurants with French names, worrying if they're the real thing for accented fakes--I was delighted, first by the warm welcome, second by the polite service, and third and most importantly,... Cannot review the place per se: we set outdoors. The service was very attentive and the food was good quality and well prepared. Eclectic menu, not particularly French, affordable prices (lunch menu) for New York and upper class neighbrhood.

If you are visiting the Jewish Museum or the Cooper-Hewitt, Pascalou is an intimate French cafe with solid food and good service. We had the onion tart and a endive salad with chicken, all good. Tight quarters but not noisy.

We went it without reservation and this cozy, unassuming restaurant was filled to the brim. We were lucky to get a table for two. Service was average but the food was wholesome and very tasty. All in all a very satisfying experience.

There is no taste to the food we waited like 45 min for main dish. The chef is amatuer ! Not worth the money!

We dined as Pascalou with friends this week for a second time and it was even better than our last visit in December. The 3 course early menu is varied and incredibly cheap. Our group enjoyed mussels, dumplings, and Caesar salad as a first course. For a main course I ordered the beef short ribs and others the shrimp risotto... More

Went here based on the reviews. It is very small so you need reservations. We ordered off the fixed menu. The salad I had was good. My friend mentioned she had a nut allergy and it was acknowledged. My salmon was not completely cooked and the veggies needed to be cooked. Dessert was either fruit or a dolce du leche... More

I apologize for our poor service and bad experience you encountered at my restaurant. I am looking into the matter and hope to get it resolved soon. Nut allergies are a very serious issue and my waiter should have been more attentive, particularly to the dessert order. I have always prided myself on the fact that we are small and... More

I have passed by Pascalou for a while now and finally decided to try it. I regret that it took me so long to do so. The food is some of the best French fare that I have had on this side of the Atlantic. The Rabbit was superb, as was the appetizer Onion soup. The Apple Tart was light... More

Sunday brunch at Pascalou was a treat! Cosy, welcoming and lively, we are joyed our meal at Pascalou. Service was prompt and friendly, the menu had my French favorites, and the food was delicious. Located on the UES, its close to shopping, Central Park and the museums. A definite

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
