We stumbled across this restaurant when we searched for a place to have our lunch. Chelsea market was too crowded, and this restaurant seemed like a good place to dine. Indeed it was! Expensive, but you can have a few deals that are not so...More

I always visit this restaurant when I come to NYC as it is one of the best in the city. Today did not disappoint. Bone-in rib-eye was excellent as was the lobster tail. Didn't have room for dessert. They do great cocktails. Service was good....More

Nice New York City Steakhouse. The cuts of meat of plentiful for the price. Good wine selection. However I was a bit disappointed in the the dinner rolls and baked potato. Dinner rolls were room temperature and butter was hard as a rock from the...More

Raw bar and rock shrimp were good; porterhouse was adequate. Each steak we ordered was heavily under seasoned. Prime rib was extremely disappointing. Hash browns with fried egg were quite good, can't say the same about the mushrooms and creamed spinach, which were both bland....More

I always enjoy a good steak, and Old Homestead did not disappoint. We had no particular destination for this Wednesday dinner, but when I saw the sign as we were walking to the Hotel, I knew I had to give it a try. I will...More

This is a good restaurant in a great neighborhood. Great seafood starters and steaks, however, truffle oil doesn't have to be added to french fries, onion rings, horseradish sauce and anything else you can pour it on. This restaurant has great food and ambiance and...More

The Old Homestead is iconic and the steaks are still prepared and served to perfection. My disappointment lies in Sarko, our waiter dropping the ball and leaving before our food was served. The meal arrived without major mistakes. Definitely not well worth the wait! The...More

As you enter the front the bar is immediately on your left - this area was small and congested so not the greatest place while waiting to be seated. Much more comfortable once seated at our table upstairs. The food is classic NY steakhouse and...More

Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful
brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most
popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s
jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The

I have gone there for lunch and they have two specials on the lunch menu. One is a filet mignon sandwich and I don't recall the second, sorry. But I had the filet mignon sandwich and it was excellent.

Not that I could see .. I'd err on the side of smarter casual. Mix of suits from offices and smart jeans/shirts. Not sure I'd go in with beach shorts & a shabby t-shirt ..

The restaurant maintains it's strong relationships with their butchers, allowing them to get their first pick of beef. Nothing but prime dry aged meat - always has been and always will be. Winner of the 2006 Wine Spectator Award. Lobsters ranging in sizes from 4 - 13 lbs., sushi grade tuna, sockeye salmon, Colossal crab meat and shrimp so big they are referred to as small bananas.
