I have eaten at Rosa Mexican many times over the years and the last couple of times not impressed. Most recently I stayed nearby this one at Union Square and was awful. I was on my own and first thing was the poor service I received - literally had to wave my arms to get the attention of someone. Then... More

During a recent visit to New York my husband and had dinner at Rosa Mexicano. The atmosphere and service was great. We had to pre book, it was very busy and it was a Monday evening. We started with the signature guacamole, which is prepared in front of you. I had the chicken enchiladas which were delicious, the portion size... More

We booked thru Open Table, confirmed on the phone the day before, told them it was a special occasion (Wife's birthday), and 4 of the 5 dishes were mediocre. We got there for a 6:30 dinner, service was mediocre, had to ask for some things twice. In hindsight, we should have gone to the Lincoln Center location as I was... More

The restaurant servers typical Mex food, which is delicious and very carnivore geared. The atmosphere is friendly and the staff are patient. The decor is pleasant. Although the restaurant if large, the atmosphere is conducive to conversation. There is typically a short wait to be seated on weekends. The guacamole is a must, they prepare it right in front of... Absolutely amazing Mexican restaurant. Food was to die for, and the staff were fabulous. They accidentally spilled the last sip of my beer, and gave us two margaritas to compensate. Awesome!

Looking for an amazing and hip place to grab a margarita without breaking the bank? This is it! My co-workers and I are addicted to their frozen margarita and it's so refreshing right after work. We look forward to the happy hour menu. Stop by after work and you won't regret it!

We have eaten at the Lincoln Center location before and were staying in the Flatiron area so chose this location. Service is very good. We were immediately offered the tableside guacamole, but knowing that our late lunch was compromising our appetites we decided to skip it. It's excellent though. I had the sopa di tortilla, which came to the table... More

My family and I had a wonderful time. We are all vegetarian for the day and had no problem. Our server was fantastic, he catered to our every whim with an excellent attitude. The food was very tasty, the portions were large. We will definitely be back!

Just blocks away from Manhattan's lively Union Square, our third New York location provides a warm and vibrant setting for our award-winning authentic Mexican cuisine. Designed by David Rockwell and launched in October 2005, this stunning restaurant features architectural accents inspired by the late, famed Mexican architect, Luis Barragan. The internally illuminated electric-blue tiled water wall features cliff diver figurines and candles among the cascading water to separate the bar from the main dining room. Warm terracotta and yellow colors with hot pink accents are featured throughout the restaurant as well as traditional, one-of-a-kind Mexican crafts, fabrics and artwork. This combination creates the perfect backdrop for the festive atmosphere and innovative Mexican cuisine of Rosa Mexicano.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
