It's a lovely little restaurant. Very nice service but the food is really not at all memorable. In our party of 6, 3 had the same meal and each had different feedback ( one too dry and one too saucy).

We tried to go to Candle 79 next door, but it was packed, so we tried Il Riccio, which is right next door. Good quality homemade Italian food, and very sweet decor. We had gluten free penne, linguini with clams, and homemade ravioli, all very good. Fun waiters!

I recently had dinner at Il Ricco while visiting New York City on vacation. A friend had recommended this restaurant, knowing that Italians manage it, and authentic Italian cuisine could be found here. Unfortunately, I was totally disheartened with my dining experience. I should start my review by pointing out that I have been living in Italy for the past... More

A friend introduced us to this fine restaurant. Lots of locals dining when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. No wait for service. The food was delicious. Good service. Lots of dining options. Definitely on my list of go to places in NYC.

This wasn't my first visit. I have been coming here for the past 3 years and each and every time I leave fully satisfied and happy This was a family dinner. We tried a variety of dishes and appetisers and all were great. We actually ordered the daily specials and they were truly special. Now the highlight was the service.... More

We had dinner with two other couples on a recent Sunday evening. Our waiter was polite and lively, (although the host who greeted us could have been less gruff - he barked "get out of here" at one of the busboys) Appetizers included grilled vegetables, fried artichoke hearts, and fresh mozzarella with tomato etc. Our waiter provided a complimentary plate... Found this little gem when we wandered off Maddison ave. I was tired and hungry but fancied a restaurant, a nice salad and a glass of wine when we stubbled across this restaurant for lunch. Fab give them ago!!

Being italian, i like pasta "on time" cooked. Unfortunately, pasta here was over overcooked and over salted. At that point the taste of the sauce is secondary... The bread was very good. The fried zucchini too oily. Nice wine list. Good desserts. Rude service putting the customer on a rush in choosing and finishing dishes.

Accidentally found this little treasure while entertaining guests from Europe who were visiting New York for the first time. It's a small Italian restaurant in the heart of Manhattan. The food was excellent and the staff was as well. We wound up sitting and chatting for an hour after we finished dinner, and no one said a word to us.... More

We came with a small group for a Birthday celebration. We sat in the garden and had a delicious relaxing meal. The gnocchi was pillowy and delicious. They have a wonderful wine list. We left happy, well fed.

Description
A favorite neighborhood restaurant for those in the know. Not only is the food good but the people-watching is terrific. Our warm friendly staff welcomes locals like Henry Kissinger, Ralph Lauren and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg plus assorted Upper East Side beauties. Specializing in the fabulous flavors of the Amalfi coast, selections include delicious risottos, osso bucco, specialty pasta, as well as more exotic fare like roasted lamb garnished with balsamic vinegar and rosemary. Delectable home made desserts along with an extensive wine list. Soft hand-painted ochre colored walls, sensually sweet background music and attentive service provide a memorable dining experience at this distinctively chic restaurant.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
