We were expecting great things from Nocello, especially as the ambience was terrific... But the service was mediocre, distracted even and the food while good, or even very good, had a distraction the sin of having portions on the small side. Indeed if it were not having a pasta dish (shared) as an appetizer, we would have left a bit... More

This place was first recommended to us when we asked a concierge for a nearby restaurant that would be quiet enough to converse with people during dinner (as opposed to most other restaurants that insist on playing music so loudly that conversation is nearly impossible). As promised, this place allowed us to hear everyone clearly around a round table of... More

It's very difficult to find restaurants that aren't tourist traps or chain type in the Tomes Square area. This little Italian place was refreshing. Spent the evening with my parents and husbands boss and wife before going to see Miss Saigon and it was perfect for all. My mother is very picky and she ate her entire meal (she had... More

My friend and I happened upon this restaurant on a cold, windy evening. It was a delightful find! We were whisked inside and tucked into a cozy corner. Our server lit a candle at our table and we proceeded to enjoy wine, soup and large plates of delicious Italian dinners; she had pasta and I had chicken. Both were delicious... More

My wife and I make it a point to have dinner at Nocello every time we go to New York. Over the past several years we have had many dinners there and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere, service, and the quality of the food are uniformly superior in all respects. The pasta e Fagioli soup is delightful and the... More

Such a pleasant place to dine. The menu, while not particularly innovative, is classic and interesting. Plenty of choices. All of our table's dishes were well-prepared and presented. The ambiance is welcoming and comfortable. Happily, the noise level is not an issue and conversation is easy. The caring staff makes for attentive and professional service.

This is a very nice restaurant. The menu is pretty standard for a Northern Italian restaurant, but the food is cooked to a high standard. Excellent wine list. We were there on a Saturday night when the restaurant was not crowded, and while the service was very pleasant, it was not exactly speedy. But we enjoyed ourselves. Quite expensive for... More

Went with a large group of family. Everyone enjoyed the food! I had a delicious chicken saltimboca. Appetizer was an Italian salad that for some reason had a fried egg in it (?!?). Dessert was delicious gelato. Others had a shrimp and lobster combo that they loved and variety of other dishes. All were happy with meals. Bolognese pasta was... More

Nice place with a good wine list at reasonable prices. Veal chop special was I think the best veal I ever had.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
