We returned at Perbacco and were again really happy about the experience. We tasted a delicious Valpolicella wine that was recommended by the friendly waiter from Rome. I had a delicious pasta with branzino and enjoyed very much the chef's fruit tart of the day. Everybody who works there seem to be from Italy, which makes an Italian dinner out... More

I needed to find a restaurant to take two Italians and an Italian-Canadian who were coming to New York, and a friend recommended Perbacco. We were not disappointed. The service was prompt and friendly, the decor and atmosphere were pleasing, and the food was delicious. The menu is not large, but very creative. They have a good selection of wines,... More

Charming location, authentic Italian food combined with great and friendly service. We ate here twice in one week. Loved the selection of Italian wines and when the weather cooperates, their outdoor seating allows for some great people watching!

I had a hour to kill, walking by this attractive little restaurant I couldn't keep walking I had to go in there for glass I wine. Recently new management this place is blooming. Great selection of wine, authentic Italian ingredients, great service. I wish the bar was bigger but that is only a personal thought. Highly recommended. If you look... More

I went at Perbacco a long time ago and stopped by this weekend while in the area, what a surprise!! The restaurant was completely renovated I guess and the decor is wonderful! We sat right next to the wall wine cellar which is spectacular! Great details all around the restaurant, I even loved the light fixture right above us! We... More

I had Blackboard Eats Discount and went to try Perbacco. Went with 5 of my friends. First, it's a nice looking restaurant. It's small but it feels cozy with a contemporary look. We ordered a bunch of apps, which really was the best part of the meal. The eggplant croquettes with burrata was tasty. The charcuterie and cheese was a... More

We met friends at this charming restaurant for dinner as they had been told it was good and had an incentive. We could not have been more pleased...we all had entrees and split salads. All was good but the clear standout was the gnocchi. We also enjoyed wines by the glass and cappuccino for desert. Our serverJames was delightful and... More

I was visiting friends who are regulars to this restaurant. They raved about it and I was not disappointed. As another reviewer pointed out, the portions are not hige, but the food is totally delicious, and certainly not your usualy 'neighbourhood italian' fair. The pasta is home made and is so good. We decided to order many dishes and eat... More

We picked this restaurant from a list we got online. It was near to were we were staying. We didn't know the restaurant was just re-decorated and were warmly greeted by the staff and family that run the restaurant. It was our 41st anniversary and decided to splurge a little on food and wine. Started with two freat sized salads... More

Went with another couple. Had an enjoyable dinner. The only thing to think about are the portion sizes. A little small. When we got the apps, we had to order more. But overall experience nice, food good, service good.

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
