Serving up Ukrainian food since 1954 - my birth year.. I was born in Brooklyn, and this is the kinds of foods I grew up with, my father was born in an area now Ukraine.

Well, it's a pretty good Ukrainian/Slavic-style food, but considering the long history of this establishment I expected quite a bit more. The meals are rather simplistic, something my Russian mom would routinely cook for lunch, very little extra thought is put into them, no heart&soul....More
Everything we ordered was delicious. The #1 Two Eggs with corn beef hash, potato pancakes and toast, the Pierogis with a side of sour cream and onions, but the stand out was #6 Veselka Fried Egg Sandwich, YUM!!

I just called the Veselka restaurant to inquire about your questions. They are open for New Year's Eve. They do not take reservations and the manager said that the most you would wait on line is 15-20 minutes. Enjoy your visit!
