Amazing experience, excellent service and food! One of the few places I visited repeatedly and they offer the same quality of food and service! Consistency in everything they do!

I visited here before a hockey game last month. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating. She asked if we were going to a game so she could get us out on time. The bacon appetizer was incredible! Seriously, I could have ordered two more of these and skipped the entrée, but I didn't - had the ribeye, which was... More

They're still kicking it (as in they are still very good). As fashions change Keens relentlessly focus on traditionally exceptional steaks and chops in a cosy, dark wood, low, clay piped lined, ceiling. One of the top 10 dining experiences in New York.

Good lord this place is expensive. Like, hold your breath, don't look at the bill expensive but my god the steak is delicious. We had the porterhouse for 2, which at $101 seemed expensive, but you know, we're on honeymoon, we'll splash out. What you don't account for on top of that is the $10-15 EACH side order, the starters... More

We recommended Keens to our fellow family diners as a special meal during our trip to NY, we have eaten here on other occasions but their first time to NY. Very pleased to say the experience was as previously received, excellent service which is attentive but not overbearing and the food is fantastic, quality produce cooked exquisitely, we all left... My husband loves steak houses and with the great ratings we were excited to try Keens. We passed many rooms until we finally got to a vary small quiet room on the upper floor. The atmosphere was dull and hushed. Our server was pleasant but not exceptional. We ordered shrimp cocktail that seemed a bit tired. Our steaks were cooked... More

We went here for Easter Eve with our family, and it had to be one of the best steak restaurants I have ever been to, and I have been to a lot of them. The oysters rockefeller were not the best (dry and too much Pernod), but the rest of the meal was. The porterhouse for 2 melted in your... More

I had a meeting in mid-town and needed a nice place to meet up with friends close to Penn Station. It's not easy to find places near Penn. Keen's was a lucky find. It's in a historical building with what they claim to be the largest collection of pipes in the world. The location used to be a smoking club... More

We went here on a Wednesday night after making reservations. Upon arriving we realized that we had accidentally booked our reservation for the next week. We were told we may have to wait but someone came by just then and said he had a table available immediately. They even gave us our reservation points on Open Table, which they obviously... More

Keens Steakhouse, a classic New York chophouse, was already famous for its steaks and chops at the turn of the century. Founded in 1885, Keens has 90,000 clay pipes that line the ceilings – pipes once smoked by customers after dinner. Today Keens legendary mutton chops and dry aged prime steaks are still without equal in the city.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
