Stopped in on New Years Day for dinner. The streets were packed, but the ambiance and friendly service at PJ Moran's were the perfect escape. Drinks came quickly and the food did not disappoint. Fish and chips were crisp and flavourful. Shepherds Pie was hot and savoury. Traditional NYC cheesecake split 4 ways was ample. We relaxed, were well fed... More

So..we were in the area to see the decorated holiday windows. Should have seen this tourist trap coming! Soon as we sat two other guests quickly got up and left...later we learned they saw cockroaches and bolted. Service from first waitress was fine...drinks came quickly. Food was very slow to come and not good when it finally arrived Hubbie's "fish... More

This is a great place for lunch or dinner if you are in the Rockefeller Center area. It was very crowded but were seated pretty quickly. We did have reservations. The food and service were very good. Lots of good menu choices and a very "Irish pub" atmosphere. The manager was friendly and took the time to talk to us.... More

We just wanted to be warm and ducked into this bar/restaurant. Way pleasantly surprised by the warmth of the staff and the wonderful hot food served. The place was jam packed ,yet still the staff made their best attempts to serve us. Never felt rushed once we had a table. The foot was good( beter than pub grub) , the... More

My wife and I, both of us born in Dublin, had a couple of pleasant meals at PJ Morans, during a trip Dec 2016 to NYC. Denise, our server was charming and informative and Vincent the manager took time to greet us. We had Shepherds Pie, Maryland Crab Cakes, and Chicken Pot Pie and they were perfect. Guinness and cocktails... More

Food is very good. Had the veggie burger. Probably best I have had. Tight seating but worth it. We had no wait which was nice.

We were pretty lost when it came to finding a restaurant and we were so happy to stumble across P J Moran's. Coming from Europe I am always worried when in NYC to find somewhere with character! And this place gave us all! The staff were accommodating and friendly, the beer selection large enough for every taste, and the food...... More

Do you need a place to meet friends or business colleagues for a drink? Do you want to get a seat? Do you want to get your drinks quickly? Do you want your custom valued, rather than getting attitude. Then come here.

Description
30 years ago, John Mahon and Eamonn Maher realized their dream. The goal was to create a pub with old-world charm and warmth near the heart of the big city. They wanted to create an up-scale pub that embraced its neighborhood roots. John and Eammon had a vision of intimate booths and secluded tables with the smell of mahogany permeating through the room.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
