Really slow service, very cramped place. It was difficult moving without bumping your neighbor's table. Food was OK, beef bourguignon was not bad but the truffle chicken was really bland. Reasonably priced except $12 for an awful glass of Cabernet and $5 for coffee. Desert was fabulous. OK experience but we will not be back.

We went expecting roast duck and cassoulet but found chicken cordon blue and the steak and fries. Salad was very fresh, onion soup needed salt, but main dishes were excellent. Try the homemade sangria, it won't disappoint. Friendly staff. And informal old world atmosphere make it a nice stop out of the hustle of the city.

We arrived at the opening for dinner at 17:00 a bit too early but we were still given a table to start looking at the menu. The decoration is classic french bistrot. The bread is ok but could be a bit more crunchy. The Cotes du Rhone by the glass is good and easy to the palate. The Salmon carpaccio... More

We read lovely reviews about this restaurant, but I can't agree on several counts. Their Prix Fixe menu had a decent number of choices, and was what most of the reviewers had chosen to order from. The restaurant is small, and the decor is uninspiring. The escargot were totally lacking in flavor. Where was that delicious garlic butter that one... More

We love French food, and this restaurant was authentic and delicious! They have a fantastic Prix Fixe menu for those eating before taking in a show. We stopped in after watching a show so we could be more leisurely with our meal. The staff were all very nice, and attentive. Food was fantastic and the Creme Brulee dessert was a... More

Leaving the theatre after a Sunday matinee in the pouring rain we checked on Trip Advisor for a French restaurant close by. We found Tout Va Bien! EXCELLENT! A little treasure.

I took some business associates after a meeting in midtown based on my friend's recommendation. The owner is a former French national soccer player, and tennis fanatic (so don't expect to see him during US Open time) and has created a wonderful restaurant offering freshly prepared country French food. For this of you who don't already know, country French, is... More

The fixed price meal was delicious. The restaurant is cozy and basic yet very convenient to Broadway shows. The salmon was generous and prepared beautifully.

I have been coming to this wonderful restaurant for 56 years when my parents first took me. Enjoyed another great dinner with my daughter pre - theater. We both had the 3 course prix fix offering for $29.99. French comfort food at its finest in a "3 steps down" charming and warm setting. The escargot was to die for. My... More

Tout Va Bien is very convenient for the Broadway shows in the 50s. If you inform your server that you have theater tickets, he'll get you out in time. If you don't have theater tickets, you'll have a more leisurely experience, and if you're lucky they might bring over the bowl of Sangria during dessert. The French onion soup has... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
