Thalia was a pleasant surprise with its New American cuisine, lovely environment, and pleasant service. It worked as a pre-theatre spot. The skirt steak was fabulous, and the Thalia Burger , with its gruyere and bacon was excellent. Pan seared scallops were excellent. The sides were fine. Mashed potatoes were good, but not the highlight of the meal by any... More

We always passed by Thalia and were eager to pass by and try it until we did last week and it was a disaster. The menu served at the bar cant be served during dinner though the menu dinner is so limited and there are no varieties as you are fooled in the pics. The waitress was so mean and... More

The wait staff made sure that I got exactly what I wanted. I enjoyed the orzo, initially it was spicy but the kitchen did not mind redoing another one that was not spicy. I had the shrimp dish and it was good, they were not skimpy on the amount of shrimp for my entrée.

A decent enough restaurant with a good selection of small plates and meals. Like many NYC restaurants booking is advisable. Our service on the night was not great, they got one of our orders wrong and were not particularly sympathetic even though the replacement meal came pretty much when everybody had finished heirs.

We didn't have a reservation but took a chance and asked if they could seat our family of 6, and they said yes! Because it is in the theater district, servers are very aware that you may need to eat and get to a show. A pre- theatre menu was offered but we ordered of the dinner menu. Our waitress... More

I went with my husband for early dinner, it's very quiet atmosphere, menu was varied, great service, pizza 🍕 was delicious and the french fries 🍟 really tasty very well spiced with special herbs .

This restaurant is near many theaters and the wait staff make sure you get out in time. The menu has a bit of everything from Japanese to Italian to American, and it's all good. Just don't expect quiet charm.

Went for an early dinner with my Husband and teenage sons. Everyone was happy, the ambiance was nice and the menu was varied. From sushi, to pasta and lobster mac and cheese, there was something for everyone. I would go back.

We came to New York for the day with our son who lives here. We took him out to celebrate passing an exam. We started off with glasses of wines. All three were very nice, especially the Riesling. For appetizers we has oysters, crab cakes and a Mesclun salad. All were very good and my wife said the salad was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
