I was wandering around the area off Times Square towards Hells Kitchen looking for something different when I came across Pongsri on 48th between 8th and 9th Ave. I've had Thai food before so I thought I'd check it out. The place was busy and I was lucky to get a table with very little wait. Service was prompt and... More

Greeted in friendly way, but had minimal useful attention from the waitstaff afterward -- possibly language gap. The tom kha gai chicken soup was tasty with coconut milk and lime flavors. The pra-ram-long-song chicken was so sweet (even for my American palate) as to be nearly inedible, unevenly heated, and served with lukewarm rice. I was asked how things were... More

Years ago I discovered excellent thai food here. Last night I found myself in the area and paid another visit. The food is excellent. The packed dining room is a testament to the food and service. Because the room was full, I ordered take out to bring back to my hotel. Speedy and friendly service. Delicious pad thai! I might... More

Our first evening in New York we dined here. We had seen it whilst exploring earlier and called in to check it out. It seemed busy so we called back later. Functional and welcoming with a comprehensive well priced menu. We chose the gyow soup (wanton with ground pork). It was full of flavour. For mains we had a Thai... More

This restaurant opens its door over 30 years ago in Manhattan and its like long lasting place deserves for its authentic Thai food taste. We loved its Pla Pad Cha with a hot and spicy flavor similar to good restaurant in Thailand. Worth a visit near Broadway theater.

We went as a family, 2 adults and 3 kids. The place was almost full when we arrived but we got a table fast. The kids had never tried thai food before and they liked it a lot. We ordered spring rolls, green curry, thick noodle, steak and hot red curry noodles. All the dishes where really good! The prices... More

We were 2 couples who stopped in for a late dinner on a Saturday night. The menu has something for everyone. We really enjoyed our appetizers and meals. The ambiance was perfect, the staff were friendly and attentive, and our order was presented in a timely manner. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area of 48th Street.

My family went here before a visit to Radio City Music Hall. This place seems to specialize in pad thai food which is not my cup of tea. I enjoyed the Tom Kha soup. The rest of the fare was ok but not outstanding. I had chicken with red curry, The service was ok, but the wait for service was... More

Enjoyed delicious thai food here before the theater. Staff was friendly and the menu is vast. Lots of Thai favorites and many dishes that were new to me. It's an easy walk from here to the main theater district.

Like a well oiled machine everyone works together here and that makes this place so great. The food comes out really fast and it is so good.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
