Should have known at prime time if a restaurant had a table a couple of tables free on Open Table when most other restaurants were booked solid, there was a reason. Well, we found out as soon as we walked into the nearly empty eatery that "had no record of our Open Table reservations but were willing to accommodate us."... More

After traveling for over 30 hours we checked into our hotel and decided to go for a walk to find some dinner. We got lucky and found Roc, the waitress was great, the food and bottle of Sancerre was amazing. We left extremely satisfied and went back again during our NYC stay. Enjoy the photos! P.s. Best baked pork cutlet... More

Had a business lunch at Roc. Food was excellent with surprisingly decent sized portions. Wide variety on menu of apps, pastas & main courses - something for everyone. Space is light during the day with the windows given the corner location. Wait staff was hands-off, but available. A little pricey but was very good. Definitely recommended.

Just ask for Rocco and let him recommend what to eat. Upscale Italian at reasonable prices with superb ambiance make roc a place to celebrate a special occasion.

The food is decent, the space is inviting, so what is it that does not feel quite right? It has to be the ill-trained and impersonal staff that appears to just be going through the motions. Perhaps they should take a lesson from Il Gigino right next door which is always crowded while The Roc is half empty. They really... More

Roc has been in TriBeCa for many years . It's a nice place with good food. I think it's underrated. Their pastas are excellent as well as their main courses. I recommend this place

Who says people in New York aren't friendly? Well they could not be more wrong at this place where we had the pleasure of experiencing friendly personal service and excellent food. We got chatting to our waiter about where we were from (Australia, but originally Europe) and where he was from (Italy) and more specifically if there was a wine... More

We made reservations at ROC Restaurant for a 25th anniversary celebration as we were celebrating in NYC. We had a party of 7 and contacted the restaurant for reservations and informed them of this celebration. Our special celebration was never acknowledged, we were squished in like sardines and I felt terribly rushed throughout the entire dinner. The noise level seemed... More

I tried this place a decade ago and it was great. Back for another visit and it's still in business and still impressive. Located on the corner of Duane and Greenwich, this old space is in the middle of nou·veau riche, overpriced real estate mecca of NYC and the menu prices reflect the surroundings. Tables and chairs for couples and... More

ROC, opened in 2000 in the heart of Tribeca, has become a neighborhood favorite. ROC offers a warm and welcoming ambiance. It remains chic with a beautiful clientele. Friendly and efficient service reminds diners of its roots in Sorrento, Italy. You will always be welcomed by Rocco, the most engaging owner in NYC. The menu features a complete and diverse menu of tempting appetizers, flavorful pasta dishes, fresh and carefully prepared fish dishes with a Sorrentino accent, and top quality meats and sausages. Its steaks compare with the top steak houses in New York City. Daily specials offer diners new and original taste combinations. Desserts feature fresh fruit, home made pastries, creamy gelato and extravagant chocolate creations. The wine list is one of the finest and most varied in New York. It has won praise from the Wine Spectator each year since ROC opened its doors. Special selections from around the world are stocked and offered daily.

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
