The old world atmosphere is charming and when paired with the staff's attention to detail, this place sets the standard for fine dining. The menu contains a wide variety of great traditional Italian fare with some unique added touches. We had a great early evening dinner after a Broadway matinee. We did not want to deal with the frantic atmosphere... More

Well the first thing that i noticed was that when we were led into the dining room, the maitre'd actually asked us which of 3 tables we would prefer. .by the window, in quiet corner and one another. I can't say how much i appreciated that since i tend to be a "table switcher". ! So we sat down and... More

I decided to treat my fiancé to a nice dinner on his birthday. So, I went to zagat rated Italian restaurants. Scalini Fedeli was rated very high, so I decided to try it. Well, the food, service and ambiance was all superb. What a great choice for a special occasion dinner. I have recommended this place to at least 20... More

Went for dinner on Valentine's Day Weekend - what a treat! Prix fixe menu is 70 dollars but includes appetizer, entree, dessert, 2 complimentary small plates (pre-app and pre-dessert) and your choice of 4 breads (pretzel rolls were a hit) - you definitely won't leave hungry! Menu has 12-18 appetizers and entrees as well as an additional 3-5 specials in... More

This is an upscale Italian Restaurant in a space which was occupied by Bouley 20 years ago. The tables are well spaced and you therefore have some privacy, which is rare in NYC. The drinks were delicious and the food excellent. I had duck breast as a main course and my friend had a shrimp/scallop combination. The service was very... More

We ate here a few weeks ago for my wife's birthday. New York City has tons of great Italian restaurants and typically we prefer a more rustic, casual ambiance and cuisine. Scalini Fedeli is the opposite and is fantastic. It does feel like a "special occasion" place which normally I would not necessarily favor but the food and service is... More

This is the second time I've been here. The food is excellent. Would I return, definitely yes, but there's lots of other good restaurants in NYC to try as well. I started with the special risotto and the black truffle artic char over crab. I've had better risotto, but this was up there with the best. The artic char was... More

Visited this restaurant as part of a surprise for my partner on our last night in NYC and I can say that the reviews are accurate - this is a delightful restaurant indeed. The premises (a converted church) in Tribeca is a perfect setting for the eclectic and flavorsome italian cuisine. I wouldn't say I was the biggest fan of... More

We asked for the surprise menu and were not disappointed. Foie Gras with Chateau Rieussec 1999 was truly special. And the rest (some 7-8 courses) was fabulous also.

Description
Scalini Fedeli ranked among New York's finest restaurants since its opening in early 2004, taking Italian cuisine to new heights. Rewarded with the highest overall ratings in the Zagat Survey, Scalini Fedeli has been granted one star by the Michelin guide in it's inaugural 2006 issue.

The inviting decor features vaulted ceilings and European antiques and provides the perfect setting for chef Michael Cetrulo's delightful cuisine which offers the finest ingredients coupled with a confidence and grace that ensures your meal will be a memorable one.

Menu highlights include soft egg yolk raviolo with ricotta and truffle butter and New York's finest venison chop in a port wine and balsamic vinegar sauce with toasted hazelnuts, sauteed spinach and roasted Mission figs.

The 350-bottle wine list encompasses all regions of Italy but also does justice to the best American wineries.

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.
